This doesn't come as a surprise to me. What's his actual experience in law enforcement? Like none? He worked for the secret service and they do investigate things I guess, but mostly they protect people.
Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is awesome, but I imagine a lot of their clashes went something like, "goddamnit, we need to bring charges against these frickers now" and her response was something like, "we can't just yet, dan. You're looking at this too myopically."

That's my read. Patel and Bongino aren't corrupt, but they relied too much on the career FBI folks.
For those who say Bongino "solved" the pipe dummy bomb planting, by his own account, he just rode a particular agent hard for that agent to "solve" the case. He was called about "the big break" in the case by the same agent.
When asked WHEN that miracle call claim, Bongino wouldn't answer. Almost certainly, the case was miraculously solved only AFTER the Blaze implicated the Capitol Police.
