Cadet Peter Wang, 15, did everything in his power to help other students make it out of the mass shooting alive. Wong and other JROTC members hid between 60 and 70 students under Kevlar blankets.
Now, people want to honor his memory by giving him the credit he deserves.

Peter Wang, 15, was one of the students killed in Florida this past week. He was a Jrotc Cadet who was last seen, in uniform, holding doors open and thus allowing other students, teachers, and staff to flee to safety. Wang was killed in the process. His selfless and heroic actions have led to the survival of dozens in the area. Wang died a hero, and deserves to be treated as such, and deserves a full honors military burial.

A very fitting and appropriate way to honor this young man. Gone much too soon.

I’m not military so I don’t know how this works but can they do that?

Yes.

Additionally we have politicians that never served buried in Arlington.

Absolutely. He was not in a duty status but plenty of nexus to whatever branch he was headed to. Plus it’s the right thing to do given his actions, that’s exactly what we are supposed to be about.

I hope he gets it. I see it was on a few news sites. This should be a slam dunk.

21 guns are only authorized for the president, president-elect, former presidents, and heads-of-state. What's done at military funerals is not a gun salute, but simply a volley from three rifles and is not actually a salute.

Yes, this kid should have the privilege of being buried with full military honors. He was a true hero.

That’s funny...I’ve served in an honor guard with seven rifles and nobody you mentioned was the honored dead.

I’m thinking you are full of shite. Or I’m going to Leavenworth

I hope this story is true. So many stories after these events turn out to be BS.

I also hope that whatever assholes at that school who undoubtedly fricked with a 15 y/o Asian kid named Wang wearing an AFROTC uniform are rethinking their actions. This kid held the door so others could run to safety. That took balls.

The MSM should be focusing on heroes like this instead of giving all the air time to POS shooters.

However, at most military funerals what many mistake for a 21-gun salute is actually an honor guard team firing three volleys from rifles. This tradition comes from traditional battle ceasefires where each side would clear the dead. The firing of three volleys indicated the dead were cleared and properly cared for.

Are you Army? If so, that explains a lot.

Well that’s so nice.

But guess what. He’s still dead.

For. No. Motherfricking. Reason.
