Eighty-six is slang meaning "to throw out," "to get rid of," or "to refuse service to." It comes from 1930s soda-counter slang meaning that an item was sold out. There is varying anecdotal evidence about why the term eighty-six was used, but the most common theory is that it is rhyming slang for nix".

Now post the real (military) meaning of it.

hell if i know. i don't pretend to be privy to inner circle political decisions like so many here do
if i had to guess - in the unlikely event dems take the house and senate, impeachment would be the route. that's removal, and the proper use of the term 86'd

In the context of a restaurant it means we are out of an item, not 'get rid of now', when the kitchen runs out of an item, let's say chicken and they tell the waitstaff, "86 the chicken".

No it doesn’t. It means cut out. 86 the mayo on the club sandwich. Means on this ticket, the customer does not want mayo.

But we all know what they mean with 8647.

I'll do it...

Per Wiki.

"Military personnel might use "86" informally to refer to scrapping equipment (e.g., "That old radio got 86'd") or ending a plan or mission (e.g., "The op was 86'd due to bad weather"). It's not an official term in military doctrine or manuals, but it's part of the informal jargon that soldiers, sailors, or airmen might pick up and use, influenced by broader civilian language".

I'm in the military and I've never once used the term 86 to refer to killing someone.

How would you twist it if he had said whack instead?
Since it all seems open to interpretation by some let me chime in on the way i take it.

He’s saying to me frick you . I can say what I want, do what i want , steal your wages, corrupt your kids , make them go fight in for profit wars , reduce your life to being a depreciating asset to be exploited until your last breath and there’s not one dam thing anyone in DC will do to change that . As much as I would like to slap this smug piece of shite around he’s right

Oh that’s right, it could mean “a million other things” which is also a lie so the point stands because we know exactly what it means. He posted this to appeal to the most vile, far left people in his party. The people who came up with this slogan after the election. He did this to sell his book but that’s irrelevant since it’s still incitement to kill the president. He may pay a legal price for it, he may not but anyone claiming we don’t know what 8647 means is a liar,

Notice they’ve decided to leave out the 47 in 8647. They can scream and lie about 86 all they want but the fact that it’s attached to 47 debunks every argument they’ve made.

How are they going to retire Trump.
You know what the veiled reference means.

It’s amazing watching them lie. These are the same people who claimed some grandma with a pinwheel was going to kill Pelosi at the capitol when she wasn’t even there.

The Democrats need to get their house in order. This country only works with multiple parties but right now the left is an enemy of the country. Is there any hope or anybody within that party who can pull them back?

That party has been lost to the radicals (communists) and older style moderate American liberals will never have control of it again.

They aren’t human anymore. They’re all single serving organisms whose only purpose is to go out and cause harm to anyone opposing tyranny.

I’ve asked the same question 3 times. Zero answers.

The easiest and dumbest answer is impeach and convict him but even they know that’s not happening.

So we are left we the unanswered question.

It’s true 86 means take away or remove as in a menu item to many people. So how do they plan on doing it?

It’s weasel words and provides cover.

We all know they would celebrate his death. Maybe not at a parade as most are pussies but they would be happy to see him “removed”.

I’m not even a Trump sycophant and I see it clearly for what it is. I’m no victim. I’m just not blind or willfully ignorant.

All the years I worked in the business it was never used in that context. It meant we were out of an item.

As for Comey, he is full of shite. I bet he will say it was already there when he walked up and he didn't know what it meant.
