There's a lot of bad blood between the two. Shelby won't even vote for him. How are they going to work together for the people of Alabama?

No, no it's not. In no way is that a legitimate point

Nope. Still voting for Jones tomorrow. Still haven't met a single person in person that has a good opinion of Moore. Had a 80 some year old man with a WWII vet hat on tell me,"I hate that sonofabitch," the other day. He whispered it after I made a comment about Moore.

There are quite a few people in Alabama that are going to vote for Jones, they just aren't talking about it.

So. Jones believes that Richard Shelby, and 83 year old man who ostensibly ran on the idea that he wanted to serve the people of Alabama........will not be able to manage his personal feelings about another member of the Senate and it will be so bad, he won't be able to do what he swore he wanted to do when he ran?

I always find these "he won't do X because he doesn't like that other guy" arguments in politics.

I'm like, OK. Reason number 5,000,012 that the private sector > government.

Grow the frick up and work with the dude you don't like. You're only 83. Time to mature up!!!

I would vote for roadkill before I would ever for Doug Jones.

Why do they have to work together? Each senator is supposed to be independent.

I doubt they will. I doubt Moore would work with anyone though, unless it was personally beneficial to him.

Is Jones saying (promising?), he's going to vote in line with Shelby here?

Agreed.

If he wins, it's going to be a shitshow of epic proportions. He's Trump without any of the underlying cunning or intelligence.

This is Shelby's last term.

Never forget that Shelby was a democrat for most of his life.

He became a Republican during Bill Clinton's 1st presidency.

He is actually an old school liberal.

He said they've worked together before and he looks forward to working with him again.

Many of the issues facing Alabama are completely bipartisan. There's no conflict.
