re: Jonathan Turley — ‘Only a moronic nation would allow birth tourism to flourish.’

As I pointed out yesterday, this country is somewhat unique in that it’s made up mostly of former English, French and Spanish colonies. The growth of the country had to deal with what are essentially citizens of a foreign crown suddenly being absorbed into the nation whether it was acquiring Florida from Spain, French from the Louisiana territory or Spanish and Mexican citizens within Texas. To me that is where the “falls under the jurisdiction of the United States” comes into play, because you literally had foreign citizens living in a new country overnight.. it was never intended to be this catch all umbrella for foreigners where as long as you spit out a kid here, the kid is a citizen.

Should we have the right to choose who we let in to become citizens?

Congress has that authority, outside of the Constitutionally-mandated floor (found in the 14A).
The immigration laws that exist today that people love to reference (by trying to carve out a status-based exception) did not exist when the 14A was written, mind you. We "let in" lots of people who had children who were citizens.

Neither did Medicaid, or AFDC, or WIC, or SSI, or EMTALA, or government-paid ESL classes, or temporary housing aid for temporarily protected foreigners, or (for the most part) public education.

Those also have no bearing on a discussion of Constitutionality

The real question is when does the country cease functioning?
It won’t be just because of illegal immigration. But it will play a role.
Agreed

“If the Framers didn’t agree with it then they should have included every viable option” per our local legal scholars. It’s the same goofy argument the gays make when discussing the teachings of Jesus: “Jesus never condemned homosexuals, transsexuals, or bisexuals therefore it can’t be wrong”

Lawyers are unconcerned with the results of their work. Only that they create more work for themselves.

Not in gridlock.
Don't act like if Hillary would have won and chose her justices they wouldn't have legislated from the bench.
I doubt these justices will overturn this, but sometimes SCOTUS breaks the gridlock in congress.

This is crazy. Apparently you can take a cruise ship full of pregnant foreigners, park it within 14 miles of the US coast, and all the resulting babies will be American citizens without even stepping foot on US soil.
Just imagine the army of American citizens living in China right now. Who knows how many.

“That’s just politics, baby. Why are you surprised?”
-SFP, probably, upon leftist legislation from the bench

You're changing the topic of discussion here. Why?

I'm sure they would have. I would have rejected it. Why do you support Leftist positions? I don't.

It's time to ask you if you've had a stroke, at this point.

Let me rephrase:
Congress is worthless without free and fair elections. The senate is all on the same team and will never amend the constitution according to the will of the people which happens to be MAGA right now.
Don’t give me your little lecture about how congress has the power. Congress is compromised.

Roberts will Roberts. He only leads when he is protecting FISA, Boasberg and other activists.

If MAGA was as popular as you claim, they'd control both chamber (Especially the House). They barely have any seats, in reality.

The House isn't the problem currently.
It's the RINO senators. Especially when they defy a bipartisan 80% on an issue.
You know damn well a handful of senators put their finger on the scale in key races to keep the balance of power almost equal. This way the same corrupt senators control the vote.

Perfect ending would be ending birthright citizenship and going back and removing all those who received it since Obama got in office.
They also need to tackle foreigners coming here on work visas and using those as a path to citizenship. Take our country back one day at a time.
