I have no problem with the term "Vietnam Era Veteran"
Personally had I not served in Vietnam, I would simply call myself a "Veteran"

You know why they ran with the veteran lie, right?

What is everybody talking about? That dude is a mess regardless. Look at him and listen to him. The Vietnam claim is a side note.

Is he even a veteran at all?

As a Vet I find his actions offensive
good question. Why the down vote?

a couple of points
1. He KNEW that the media was portraying as an in country vet & allowed that myth to hang out there
2. in the Detroit Free Press interview he claims to have been in "Vietnam times" and in "marine times" in the same sentence; he was purposefully ambiguous, we call that a "lie of omission" in my house
bottom line, obvious stolen valor is obvious

More like a peace pipe vet, and I think we all know what PFC Lying Bull has been smoking.

The Vietnam and NA stuff is all just a veneer. He’s simply another professional leftist agitator answering the call from mainstream democrat leaders to “get in their face”.

These terms have the same meaning.

No, they don't.

He should not use the term "Vietnam" anywhere if he never went over there. No one cares if he was a Marine sitting at a barracks somewhere stateside.

For purposes of VA disability claims and service connection, they are very different.

I am a Vietnam era veteran, but I did not serve in Vietnam. So I am not a Vietnam veteran.
