“Jesus was a refugee”

This commercial in defense of illegal immigration forgets that, in the story, Jesus and his family went back to where they came from.

Are we going to repeat the entire thread in which half the forum was completely unaware of the existence of Matthew 2:13-15? (not to mention the non-canonical Gospel of Thomas)

I read some about the organization that has been running that series of commercials (“HeGetsUs”). They very much seem like a sort of cultural Christianity organization that just preaches the “Jesus wants us to love everyone” without discussing all of the other things Jesus taught. I haven’t seen them run a commercial about rejection of sin and repentance, yet. Nothing about living on EVERY word that comes from God.

Comparing Jesus to a drug cartel funded operation is insulting

Of course Hank thinks Jesus is comparable to our immigration crisis. That tracks completely.

I just found it highly-entertaining that so many purported Christians were completely unaware that Jesus and his family were (briefly) political refugees in Egypt.

Seriously, go back and re-read that thread. It is hilarious. People were arguing VOCIFEROUSLY that Jesus' family were never political refugees.

"The king is going to kill us if he finds us. We gotta GO." (not a political refugee)

HeGetsUs is a Soros org whose only purpose is to bludgeon conservatives with their own Christianity.

Saul Alinsky (shalom) promoted using your enemy’s rules against them.

Everybody (on both sides) who talks about Jesus loves to pick and choose, depending on whatever their agenda is.

Evangelicals, non believers, and everyone in between.

First two versus of Romans 13 says obey the governments and laws of the land and submit to those authorities. If you're illegal then I don't think it qualifies.

Jesus was a clever guy.

Not sure how it bears upon his family's status as political refugees 30 years earlier.

I’ve tried finding this several times, but everything I find on it actually goes back to the Green family AKA Hobby Lobby and other wealthy Christian families.

If you have a link that goes back to Soros, can you share it?

re: “Jesus was a refugee”
The commies claim Jesus but betting they hate this passage:

"When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.'
Mat 20:9  "The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius.
Mat 20:10  So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius.
Mat 20:11  When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner.
Mat 20:12  'These who were hired last worked only one hour,' they said, 'and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.'
Mat 20:13  "But he answered one of them, 'I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn't you agree to work for a denarius?
Mat 20:14  Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.
Mat 20:15  Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?'
Mat 20:16  "So the last will be first, and the first will be last

They think they want equality of outcomes but they really don’t.

Sounds more like a nationalist. Evidently he has some pretty staunch immigration policies with a gated facility.
