That would be a stunning move. Bernhard has flirted with running before, will he this time?

Is he in? Is he out? Does it matter right now? Even if it doesn’t, the possibility of millionaire investor and political flirt Jim Bernhard buying into the 2019 ballot has supporters of Gov. John Bel Edwards buzzing. But not exactly panicking.

Yes. He's also a megabooster for LSU Athletics. I'd like to see him take over just because I hear he got thwarted with the Jimbo to LSU maneuver by Jindal in one of Bobby's last hurrah's. Who cares about state taxes as long as we can win another natty, LOL!

Seriously though, he's the former head of the State Democratic Party, and he's far, far, FARRRRRRRRR less Liberal than it's current head, Karen Carter Peterson of NOLA.

I'm not saying he's great or awesome or anything like that. Just saying that if he won he would neuter KCP with the $ he could bring into the Party. It would bring moderation to the message for the Democrats in LA.

I'll also be honest: He'd beat anyone not named Graves or Kennedy on the R Ticket.

I don’t know much about him politically, but he dropped a “Do you know who I am?” on some buddies of mine at an LSU game. I have a firm policy of discounting anyone who ever uses that line, regardless of affiliation.

Yeah, I've gotten the "what do you do for me?" question from him. He's pretty arrogant.

I hope he starts talking about income inequality so I can get a good laugh. At Shaw he would buy hundreds of thousands of shares of stock, receive 8 figure raises, then turn around and tell the employees there wouldn't be any cost of living raises because the company wasn't doing well.

Please give me a real candidate, Kennedy or Landry, that has a real chance to win.

This is something I'm legitimately worried about and this possibility was already floated.

He would be tougher to beat than JBE is right now for a conservative.

Jim Bernhard would be like a democrat Trump for all the wrong reasons.

It would be a very interesting election.

Akin to Roemer, EWE and Duke in that there would be strong candidates from both parties running against another candidate not in the mainstream.

I love these comments in every Shaw/Bernhard thread. He jokingly asked someone that one time when Shaw first moved into the office on Essen. Now every slap dick that ever walked through those doors regurgitate that same lame arse story about him asking them that. Let me guess, you also saw him fire someone on the elevator? That’s the other story 90% of ex-Shaw employees will tell.

And a man who made a salary of less than $10m a year routinely gave himself a $10m+ raise at the end of the year? I’m sure the major shareholders and board members signed off on that with no objection.

I used to help a buddy that worked for him put on company tailgates. Every time I’ve met the man he was always very cordial and interested to know what I did for a living. He treated all of us that way too. Never once acted above us and always thanked us for helping out. I never worked for him, but he’s always been a pretty good guy to me. I don’t like the fact that he’s a democrat, but the guy knows business and jobs, so he will be tough to beat.

I will put this as easy as I can for anybody that cares to understand. If you are a Democrat I will not be voting for you.

I will be voting for the Republican and if I don’t like him or her,I won’t be voting.

Shaw tailgates back in the day were very fun.

I worked for The Shaw Group for many years at different fabrication facilities around the US.

Jim was always nice to me but I have seen him be an arse towards some people.

He is a shrewd businessman and I prefer him to stay out of politics.

Tough? JBE is a one term governor. If people wouldn't have freaked about what Vitter did decades ago, he wouldn't have had a chance.

You seem upset. Are you his son?

Maybe people have these stories because they're true. I've got about 12 people that were around me when he asked me that. Of course, you were there so you would know, right?

That comment charts high on my "a-hole Meter".

No thanks, I'll vote for an a-hole that I know will take my call.
