Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry appears to be using his annual alligator hunt, his biggest annual political fundraising event, to launch a long-expected bid for governor, passing out “Team Landry Governor” garb to attendees.

Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, activist Kimberly Guilfoyle, spoke to the crowd this week at the event, where tickets range from $1,000 to $50,000 VIP passes. Photos attendees posted on Facebook show hats and shirts with Landry’s 2023 gubernatorial campaign logo, as well as for top deputy Liz Murrill’s bid for attorney general to replace Landry.

Murrill, whose title is solicitor general, has said she’ll only seek Landry’s job if he doesn’t run for re-election to AG.

Landry’s entrance to the race makes him the third declared candidate in what is expected to be a hotly contested campaign to replace Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, whose second term will end in about 16 months. Landry is joined by fellow Republicans Treasurer John Schroder, who told supporters earlier this year he was running, and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, who said recently he was planning on running.

What is so bad about Jeff Landry? I don't know much about him but the fought against vaccine mandates so he has that going for him IMO.

Who are all these idiots who pay that much money to listen to politicians?

Well, seeing as your prime example of leadership are the likes of Biden, Stacy Abrams, and Mexican Irishman, Beto O'Rourke, then we'll take your remarks as a compliment.

People that will need favors or want appointed positions of power in the next administration.

Didn't he win 5 or 6 SC cases against the Biden regime?

Is this the guy suing Biden etc. for scheming with social media companies? At least he has some balls.

You're right. It takes huge amounts of courage to sign pleadings and file them online.

Were any of them impactful?

I thought his legal moves against vaccine mandates were pretty important. My employer was on the fence at the time to implement a vaccine mandate or not. I believe Jeff Landry actions pushing back against vaccine mandates from the state led my employer to back off the mandates (despite the objections of the fat karens in HR). I'm appreciative of those efforts.

Last I heard the case was moving forward. I dunno much else about him though. Do you think he's worse than JBE?

Landry will get my vote because he is the only State level Republican that did anything to counter JBE. Billy didn't do shite, the entirety of the legislature didn't do shite.

Also, he has been leading constitutional level suits against the Biden admin. If you think that is just grandstanding, then you need a lesson in federal vs states rights.

Google his name. He's pissing off the right kind of people. All of the usual leftist outlets try to smear him, the advocate, nola.com, the AP.

He's won several lawsuits against the Biden regime. Why is he so bad?

FWIW, the only explanation i get is that "he's stupid" or comments like yours, with no real explanation of why you dislike him so much.

Why is he so bad, and what is the better alternative?

Yes he is. In conjunction with the Missouri AG. I support the suit.
