It's widely agreed among politicians on both sides, across multiple areas of the cabinet, and the media, that there have been 2-2.5 million people self-deport since early last year.
It's about 1.5 million for the fiscal year, which is just a touch above the norm. It's normal for 3-5% of illegals to go back to their home country in a given year. It's how it works for those here (truly) to work seasonally or temporarily. In other words, the self-deportations are standard business and are not evidence of some super duper deportation program.
The reality is that when you remove self-deportations and turnbacks at the border (legit awesome job by Trump) from the numbers, Trump deported about 350,000 in calendar year 2025. And ICE spent about $12 billion doing it, not including any of the additional $80 billion spend the big beautiful bill provides. There are now about 22,000 ICE agents/admin. So let's do the math - we're averaging about 1 deportation per ICE employee per month, and it's costing us over $30K per deportation.
So far, Trump has failed us on deportations and yeah, I recognize whackjobs on the Left are obstructing everywhere they can - but FFS, we could have offered each illegal $10K to get the frick out and would have seen shite tons more gone, and saved ourselves about $20K per deportation.

It’s been reported on countless outlets the forced deportations are around 600k and self are at least 2 million. BBB didn’t take effect until later in year. A large number of those ICE employees still had to do the academy and are new to the streets.

A lot of shite is reported. And what you're confusing are ICE interior removals and ICE border-related removals. Border-related removals are recent crossers picked up/taken back, and are picked up within 100 miles of the border by CBP and transferred to ICE for removal. Those aren't the 20 million illegals Biden handed off to Trump.
ETA - go find a good number for ICE interior removals for last year.

JD Vance: No, we're not deporting anybody. But, that's okay because Barrack and Hillary were counting their deportations wrong.

How many liberal judges to date have stopped deportations. Youve gone full retard if you think the admin haven't been trying to deport people. Oh and I don't see you responding to my early post. When was the last large convoy that entered illegally under Trump?

I do know that obama took turnarounds and lumped them in with deportees and then compared those to just deportees of other administrations (obviously turnarounds are a much larger number).
Seems the media is doing the same with Trump, just counting his deportees.
I do believe there have been many self deportees.
You guys have to stop putting yourselves in their place, you are far far more sedentary. These people risk being picked up on the road, losing their f-150, big screen tv, and the money they stuck under the mattress. You keep pulling the benefits on one end and increasing the threat of being snatched on the street.....they will pack up the truck and go home.
