Were your state's employees working from home or did they get shut down entirely?

With as easy as it is these days for people to network, everybody humping social media, all these stupid 'challenges', change.org petitions and the like, Etc, why haven't business owners gotten together en masse and picked a day and just all opened up at the same time? There would be nothing the government could do about it. Basically do an end-around and tell them the frick off.

Most worked from home. Some offices only closed to the public.

State employees are still getting paid so they better be working. Although half of them are useless.

This administration should be labeled the "Do as I say, not as I do" admin.

Working from home and some are going to the office as needed. Hate to break it to you, many state workers value and like their jobs and are really helping to keep things running.

Yea many are good workers. My work hires many young engineers who start with the state and supply chain people. We haven't had a problem with any. I am sure some are lazy, but it's not like the Government has all lazy, democrats, or whatever else stereotype is out there.

well, the state could take a cue from l.a. and shut off power and water to the business. so i wouldn't say nothing

We have a few state and local government construction projects going on right now and not one of them has been postponed or had their completion dates extended since day one of all this shut down.

I'm not really going to complain about that too much though as it has kept our employees working since most of our other customers aren't working and our oil field customers have completely shut off spending money.

But as you say,
"Do as I say, not as I do"

That provision about children at home is key though. With schools closed and a lot of summer camps cancelled a lot of state workers will remain home in Denham and Prairieville.

Correct. I'm glad to see that the state and local agencies are still working. And I agree with others that there are good, hardworking employees.

My point was that it's apparently safe for 20% of the employees at the State Cosmetology Board to begin working next week, but the industry they oversee cannot.

Wouldn't we be better off if employees that are capable of working from home do so? That's less traffic and less money spent on their offices. They shut a lot of the summer camp programs that parents normally send their kids to school so thats going to be another wrinkle.

If there's one gripe about the JBE administration its that they basically use physical presence in an office as a primary performance metric.
