The only thing that would stop any Republican from beating JBE is to have been with a hooker many years ago...apparently.

I’m not sure either one of those are true. I think the governor’s race will be a close one either way. JBE isn’t hated by those who don’t pay close attention to politics. Only industry hates him. While industry has money, they don't necessarily have bodies. JBE’s people: those on Medicare, public education employees, sheriffs association, trial lawyers, teachers, etc all provide lots of bodies to show up at the ballot box. It is nearly impossible to unseat a sitting Louisiana governor without a bungled natural disaster or a scandal. Most people don’t seem to think JBE especially bungled the 2016 flood, and he hasn’t had any visible scandals.

I don’t see Kennedy beating him. If he’s in the runoff get ready for more JBE.

Obviously I hope I wrong though.

Jeff Landry is not gonna beat JBE. That dude is not smart.

Kennedy just got elected US Senator. He better not campaign for Governor next year UNLESS he resigns his seat.

Let me stop you there. Maybe every sheriff in the state may go that way but their employees likely do not

All the shite on Landry that Caldwell arrogantly didn't bother messing with is coming out if he goes against JBE. Landry is a complete fricking fraud.

Would you like to elaborate? I've heard a lot of insults hurled at Landry, but "fraud" is not one of them. What's the scoop?

Exactly. He may get a few dozen Sheriffs' votes, but he'll lose thousands of votes to the baw deputies who will vote Republican.

Personally I would have guessed the exact opposite.

AG Landry has been antagonistic to JBE to the point I am totally turned-off. JBE couldn’t throw a dollar in the collection plate at church without Landry bitchin’ about it.

Landry would lose to JBE in a landslide.

Kennedy would probably win a tight race based on his street cred and the “R” at the end of his name. But it’s not like Louisiana is in terrible shape with JBE in office.

Oil prices and the economy are JBE’s friends. If they keep trending positive, JBE is a shoe-in for a second term.

Landry.....

I know all 3 of these dudes.

1). Edwards will lose to any Republican, except...

2). Landry who’s crazier than a sh**house rat; and,

3). Kennedy can beat him and he has wanted to be Governor of Louisiana since he was twelve years old.

Just sayin’

For one, his legal experience is grossly exaggerated. In my opinion there may even be aspects of it that haven't been raised that could be damaging. Allegedly.

Landry winning AG is a joke in the legal community. I do not think he ever actually practiced as an attorney.

He only practiced for like 6 months or a year or something ridiculous. He had never tried a case. However, Buddy had been a corrupt drunk for so long that people were willing to vote in someone patently unqualified for the position just to get rid of him.

It doesn't seem like Landry's doing a bad job as AD, though, even if I don't like him using it as a political bully pulpit in much the same way Kennedy used his position as treasurer.

He fricked over the La Sheriff’s. He won’t get their support sans his brother next time around.
