Absurd this still goes on. We need a Trump tweet on this pronto, call out Japan, Norway, and Iceland on this. I'd put this in the same category as shark fin soup and hunting elephants/rhinos for ivory.

It was probably coming right for them.

Is that Rosie O'Donnell? I'm having a hard time telling the difference

It could be Anthony Weiner swimming with the fishes.

Yes, its called fishing.

Yeah I can't stand them either, but no way to justify the whaling. From what I've read there is basically no market for this in Japan either, lots of meat just sitting in freezers on put into animal feed.

Honestly ... whalers should be blown outta the water. Shark finners should as well. Trophy hunters in Africa ... should be hunted themselves, to extinction. People caught slaughtering elephants for their tusks ... should be impaled on said tusks and put on display. Same for rhino hunters.
frick'em all ... kill'em and send'em to hell where they belong.
Same for baby seal hunters.

If it moves, crawls or swims people eat it. Just don't eat it out of existence. Thats truly absurd.

The Japanese do not draw a moral distinction between whales/marine mammals and fish. To many of them, it is just lunch are they are dug in on this.

Iceland and Norway supposedly hunt in their own waters, but this business Japan is doing in international water is high thievery. I'm glad the international community rebukes them often.

The length of time in the reproductive cycles and time to maturity makes whales a stupid thing to "fish" for. Endangerment followed by extinction is inevitable, they simply don't have enough time to rebound.

Do you eat chicken, beef, or pork?
Posted on 1/15/17 at 12:56 pm to Ice Cream Sammich
Yes I do. The chicken I eat doesn't take 10+ years to reach sexual maturity though.

INTERPOL is worthless.

I'm going on a hunt later this year. I'm super jacked about it. My adrenaline is going to be flowing when I get on that harpoon.

Well if we jack up those whales on hormones, steroids and all that science can provide we'll have them breeding like mice in no time.
Blubber for all

Councillors from the home of the Japan's whaling industry have revealed that schoolchildren in the area have been served dolphin meat containing dangerous levels of mercury, prompting warnings of a potential public health disaster as the country attempts to boost consumption of cetacean meat.
In a rare departure from the official line that the meat is safe and nutritious, two assembly members from Taiji in Wakayama prefecture broke ranks to say that tests on samples of short-finned pilot whales - a type of large dolphin, despite its name - had found mercury levels 10 to 16 times higher than those advised by the health ministry.
"In kindergartens, elementary schools and middle schools, children are served the meat two or three times a month, but their parents believe that it comes from whales caught in the Antarctic. They seem to be unaware that their children are eating these pilot whales," said Hisato Ryono, who described the meat as "toxic waste".
