They can get another janitor job in about 5 secs somewhere else. Help wanted everywhere for janitors. Our local school needs three of them right now.

Not if they don't stop standing around.

the union organized a strike with the rest of the janitors against the firings, saying the company was violating local cleaning regulations.
San Francisco, a city so filthy it had an app created to track feces on its streets ( San Francisco Poop Map), has "local cleaning regulations." Considering the city had to commission a public works "Poop Patrol" a few years ago, I'm sure Musk is very concerned about running afoul of the local cleaning regulations by firing some whiny janitors.

Sounds to me like the cleaning contractor fired them after losing his contract with Twitter. It doesn't sound like they were direct Twitter employees.

Fake news. Janitors were the only productive Twitter employees.

They are janitors. Just how much clout do they think they have?

I love the way they criticize Musk for the calloused timing, even though it was them who chose the time.

A janitor union?
In the words of the great Unknown Hinson... "Any 15-year-old punk could do it."

I bet the union bosses who approved this strike are going to have a very merry Christmas. They're not concerned about the plebes.

Explain why three floors of a high rise, with 90% of the employees working from home require 48 janitors to perform the job.
My wife ran a cleaning company. This is a job for 3 employees maybe 5 if the company is filthy. One per floor at MOST is generally enough! If REALLY HUGE and messy 2...but 48? No this was someone's nepotistic contract.
One major complaint was that security was escorting janitors in certain areas. ....SO WHAT. Considering the issues at the company, the deep state involvmeent and the unlawful activities by people like Baker it is necessary.
Meanwhile the suits against MUSK go on, hundreds of them. What these IDIOTS do not understand is that MUSK received LETTERS OF ESTOPPEL at the sale. These letters DESCRIBED EVERY CONTRACT, PROMISE, or AGREEMENT that existed according to every manager and director and executive in the company.
And, BTW, there is NO contract between MUSK and the Janitors, it is between their company and Musk. Musk does NOT have to hire ay ONE of them through the Union. He can Hire DIRECT through the company or contract a Non-Union shop. No law can make him do that...EVER. There is a Constitution you know.

Well Stated, but the question still remains..what do 48 janitors do in three stories of a high rise? They would be done with any possible work in less than 30 minutes! I suggest that this was a nepotistic or cronyism contract and that there never was cause for the size of the crew. I suggest that EVERY "janitor" there knew this and was willing to RAPE the COMPANY and its SHAREHOLDERS.
Further I suggest that those Janitors could NOT have met the UNION requirements of performing their duties because they would never meet the QUANTIFIED amount of service for wage that is part of "workmanlike manner".

ASK THE NYC GARBAGE MEN.. A LOT.
UNTIL the company creates a requirement to carry your own garbage can to the dump wagon and to clean your own desk surface (as you should anyway). All that is left is vacuuming (automated) and emtopying the dump wagon (again, automated).
