When did we get to the point in society when an arrest warrant gets issued, we give people time to surrender?
I mean go knock on the dudes door and arrest the guy
They don't even always go look for them, it probably depends on what the warrant is for. Seems like a lot of the time they just wait for the person to get a speeding ticket or something and pop up in the system.

Wake me up after all his appeals have been exhausted.

Ever heard of a "bench warrant"? They are issued all the time.

This is a regular occurrence

Correct.
The feds are a little more aggressive, but if you're not a flight risk and there is no search to be performed they like the surrender process.

Unless you’re a republican or enemy of the Marxist democrats then you get a 5am raid with the propaganda networks like CNN just randomly and luckily being in the area to catch it on camera.

He’s not going to need a single appeal. There’s no chance he gets in any real trouble.
This “show” is the only punishment he’ll ever face.

Probably correct because of the DC jury. In a neutral venue, he might have been in trouble.

I thought it was in NC? (I could be wrong here)

That’s where the indictment and charges were filed. I would be very surprised if it doesn’t end up in DC. If it stays in NC there is a chance of a neutral jury…and he could be in trouble. Depending upon the judge being neutral and letting it get to a jury.

but this was always a self-inflicted wound by the admin.
Funny SFP, I always thought this was an unforced error by Jim Comey. I can understand the deliberation of the meaning of '86' and I'm not certain I would have brought charges.
But Mr. 'straight-as-an-arrow' Comey... What were you thinking? He didn't have to post, but TDS changes folks. And for the sake of virtue signaling alone, he did it anyway.
With all that education & legal training, he just had to be clever.

Yeah I have heard of a bench warrant for somebody that missed court on a speeding ticket. Thats routine and prioritized correctly.
This seems a little different

The judicial system doesn't prioritize warrants?
Take away whether or not Comey is innocent in all this. The reason for the warrant is the reason to not wait around for future harm to be done. Comey doing a lot of talk shows to profess his innocence before turning himself in.
Doesnt seem like others get that same privilege.

A bit of a histrionic framing.

That's not harm, in the legal sense. Comey is not a likely threat for future criminal behavior. He has no history and is a public figure.
But he is surrendering, so I'm not sure what the complaint is. Making him do that is unnecessary, especially considering he just had a case (which he beat) where he appeared, but we all know why they're doing this dog and pony show.

Maybe the admin doesn't really believe he's a potential cause for physical harm to the POTUS.

That's probably why he turned himself in.
