ackson, MS, is once again modeling radical Black love for the nation with a pioneering basic income program that will give fifteen Black mothers living in subsidized housing $1000 every month for the next year.
Poverty, disease-care, failing schools, scarce access to reproductive health options, and the crushing weight of white supremacy are not new conditions for many Black Mississippians

Isn't Jackson on the edge of bankruptcy and / or severely broke?
WTF. I would be outraged my taxes are going to this. Think about the precedent it sets and doors it opens; what keeps the average black Jacksonian from throwing a shitfit that they're not receiving $1000 monthly as well?

So when my SO's DNA results come back from Ancestry.com, if they find one drop of African blood, can she rent a crackhouse there and get her monthly check?

Yea. There isn’t going to be hundreds or thousands more demanding “theirs”.
“You mean “insert name here” is getting a thousand dollars and I get NOTHING? Oh I’m gonna get something!”
The fallout from this will be one for the ages. Not from the ones remaining that are paying the taxes... from the ones who didn’t make the cut for the free grand.
