People are routinely held for years in pretrial detention. Do these J6 people deserve special treatment because they like Trump? It’s shite for everyone but it’s telling that you started caring when it’s people on “your team” that are being mistreated.

I don't believe in this type of treatment for prisoners. I don't really have to discuss them, accordingly. That discussion isn't what the thread is about, though.

Because there is NEVER a justification for this, yet you are defending it without the benefit of any facts to support your argument. You are aligning with a political narrative in the face of a clear violation of human rights in a country that's supposed to be the last refuge on earth for human rights. Abu Ghraib was a scandal, GITMO needed to be shut down, and migrants cant be held in cells or separated from unidentified minors, but this is perfectly constitutional?

Is it possible that a guy that broke in to the capital with a baseball bat and riot shield, and who assaulted a good friend weeks before the J6 riot, isn't the most reliable source? The guy is clearly messed up in the head.
If some of his claims are true, then that's terrible. But I very much don't trust someone who's very obviously out of his mind.

Not necessarily.
I get cases sometimes with 5+ officer body cams. I don't need all of those body cams, and if a trial occurred, all 5 wouldn't be introduced into evidence most likely.

No. I think prison sucks and a bunch of people who don't understand prison are now getting a better idea of how prison sucks.
This is also a potential moment of illumination for the "back the blue" types to understand how our prison system needs and overhaul, but I don't think they're ready to have that discussion.

Dude, innocent people are held without bond (or insanely high bonds) for years without trials WITHOUT choosing the strategy of delaying his trial date like the guy in OP.
