I looked around but haven’t found any timeframe on when you can actually start buying it OTC at a pharmacy. I saw they wanted some standard procedures for administering but no start date that I could locate. Has anyone seen any rough dates yet?
Bumping this thread to see if anyone has any info on my previous question.

In the other states that have done this there are still pharmacists that refuse to sell it without prescriptions so we will have to see how it goes down here.

I would assume it will be easier at a small local pharmacy. It will be interesting to see if the big chains jump onboard and I wonder if they will allow mail orders and online ordering at places like Walmart and Amazon Pharmacy.

I'm guessing we will be disappointed in the short time while corporate beuracracy decides how they want to handle it.

Ivermectin Now Available OTC in Louisiana

Good for LA. Is it going to be cheap though, as it should be?? And when will it be available, and just on the shelves , give ID and/or need to ask and get questioned by the pharmacist like if you want allergy meds?

I have an uncle that will definitely want to bootleg it back home.

My understanding is that it will be behind the counter. You will ask the pharmacist for it and they will review the information with you, a consultation.

Thanks. Think they can reject your request or just let you know what its used for?

I've never gotten anything that is available without a script, and just ask for and consult. Not sure the process. Thx.

So can water.

What is the point that you think that you are making?

I generally believe almost all medication should be available over the counter (except addictive drugs and I am sure there are a few other cases).

If I want to blow my money something, that's up to me.
If I don't want to consult with a doctor, that's on me.

Now, if insurance doesn't want to pay for it, that is a different issue.

From what I've learned, Ivermectin can be an important medication for cancer prevention and treatment. It's not a "guarantee" but a part of the answer.

If in fact Ivermectin is effective as a cancer preventative and as a potential treatment for some cancers, what is the mode or mechanism by which it influences cancer?

There has been a number of explanations respecting Ivermectin’s effectiveness on different aspects of Corona viruses, especially Covid 19.

What’s the theories on how Ivermectin attacks cancers?

I just went to go purchase Ivermectin over the counter in Baton Rouge. Was told I need a prescription. I told them I thought it was OTC now. The lady went to check with the pharmacist. He said there is a standing order but they can’t sell it to me. I walked halfway through the store on my way out and stopped. I reread the standing order to see if I was misinformed. It does in fact say it is available without a prescription. I went back to speak directly to the pharmacist. I asked if the standing order does it fact say they can sell without a prescription. He confirmed it does. I asked if he is simply refusing to do it. He said he needs to look more into the standing order. I told him it seems all I need to do is fill out some paperwork then I can purchase and be in my way. He said he’ll need to know why I am taking it. I told him it is approved off label for Covid. He said he is refusing to sell it to me for that purpose.

Long story short, yes you can buy it OTC, but there are still pharmacists out there that will refuse. A little frustrating. This was the Walgreens on Highland and Airline in SE BR.

Can you report that pharmacist for the denial?

I believe TX just passed the law to make it OTC. Not sure when it kicks in or if they'll have to go thru all y'all do in LA. Ie...fill out paperwork vs it being handed over upon request.

So trying to destroy the history of this country and white men specifically is the same thing as making a drug that was already widely available even more available is right wing racism.

That stinks. Maybe try a mom and pop? And report this pharmacy.

You can order Ivermectin on Amazon.

And while your at it, get “Fenbedazole”

And must get some “charcoal tablets” That helps the “binding of the Ivermectin” that will flush out all parasites.

Without an “Ivermectin Binding agent”, you won’t get the full effects.

Landry acts like this is some huge deal. But it’s more like the (right thing to do), and it’s so readily available online.

HEY LANDRY. I know you and/or you have your goons are on this board,

HOW ABOUT following thru with your campaign promise of TORT REFORM FOR AMBULANCE CHASERS!!!

How about making it illegal for all this “Morris Bart commercials and billboards”

How about actually helping reduce our medical and vehicle insurance.

Landry is a Charleton either way huge ambitions and will do whatever it takes to divert from the policies he ran on.

Ran into the same thing at Walgreens in Lafayette this week.

The pharmacist said that it takes some time for these new laws to trickle down from corporate.

I read the standing order and looks like the pharmacy has the right to refuse.

Also I think it is actually safer than drinking (not drowning) water. Seriously I think more people of died from drinking too much water than from Ivermectin. I have heard of cases where people died from drinking to much water. I have not heard of a single case of anyone dying from ivermectin.

I'm not sure what to make of that but

That aside, as it is just speculation, it should raise red flags when a drug that is safer than aspirin is restricted from OTC use. There is a reason and it has to do with drug makers wanting your money.

This I will go to my grave believing.
