I've thought about this a lot. It's going to be Carson.

Ben Carson will be VP. Here's why.

1. I think Trump trusts him. I think Trump likes him. And nobody has really had Trumps back.

2. He doesn't threaten Trump in the sense that he has genuine humility.

3. He softens Trumps hard edge

4. Politically, I think he helps a bit with women and a bit with blacks. Enough so, that they probably win.

5. While he isn't the most inspirational leader, should something happen to Trump and he took over, I would sleep pretty good at night. I think many will feel the same way.

Tulsi is going after it hard. But I just can't see a very positive reaction from the base. I say give her Defense

Vivek is the best choice. He's smart. His policies are ideal. But, like Trump, he draws a lot of hate. And, I just think Trump and Vivek together might appeal to the very same people and not expand the base.

DeSantis wouldn't take it and Trump would not offer. Plus you have the residency issue.

I don't think anyone else will be considered.

I like Ben Carson a lot, but even Pence is Mr. Excitement compared to Carson.

He went after him awfully hard in 2016 when Carson was briefly the #2 man in the race.
quote:

He doubled down with a 9-minute rant on Carson during his rambling 95-minute monologue in Iowa on Thursday night, saying the people of Iowa have to “stupid” to believe his past claims and delivering a theatrical rendition of how a belt buckle could not thwart a stabbing. “And I don’t want a person that’s got pathological disease, I don’t want it. Now, I’m not saying he’s got it. He said it,” he clarified. “This isn’t something I’m saying — he’s a pathological liar, I’m not saying it. He said he’s got pathological disease.”

Friday morning, he wasn’t letting up, releasing a Friday the 13th-themed video on Instagram with footage of Carson talking about his past claims of physical violence, and then cutting to a former neighbor who discredits the account. The video closes with on-screen text asking, “VIOLENT CRIMINAL?,” followed by, “OR PATHOLOGICAL LIAR?” “WE DON’T NEED EITHER AS PRESIDENT,” the next slide reads.

Pretty sure it'll be a women. I'm not a Kristi Noem fan but she seems like a decent guess. Maybe Elise Stefanic. I really don't know what I think of her. Just no Haley or Lake please.

He rolled over like a pup to let Trump rub his belly.

quote:

Carson, eager to right his campaign after a barrage of criticism about his biographical narrative and his policy positions, is refusing to fan Trump’s flames.

“It’s not the kind of dialogue that I would ever engage in, and I’m hopeful that maybe his advisers will help him to understand the word pathological,” the doctor told reporters who asked him repeatedly on Friday about Trump’s attacks.

The retired neurosurgeon noted that the word “pathological” does not mean it is incurable. “It is simply an adjective that describes something that is highly abnormal,” he said, adding that he had been free of “pathological” anger for a half-century.

Most of the tv pundits think it will be Scott. I wouldn't be shocked if Trump threw a curve ball.

Not at all. Carson supported Trump’s efforts to combat inner city decay and to get the economy rolling for Blacks. Carson is a principled conservative who is also very loyal.

The Republicans who will run for the nomination in ‘28 don’t want Trump picking a superstar VP. That’s why it can’t be Vivek.

Nobody dislikes Tim Scott but does anyone really like him? He seems like a tan Pence. Don't need another yes man. No way he could take the torch from Trump.

and???

Tradition is dead - Trump doesn’t need an attack dog as a VP candidate - this might be a good choice

Ben Carson is a Christian man with a heart for God

a man like that having Trump’s ear would be a great asset to this country

and he would bring many black votes (or at least make it “ok” in the black communities to support Trump); especially after his “perp walk in the ATL”

Absolutely not. I do not dislike him, but his energy does not strike voters in a positive way. He’s a good guy, but he does not have the social skills. He’s very smart but Trump will not choose him.

An evangelical Christian VP does little to expand Trump’s political reach.

He has that vote in the bag already.

The only thing that needs to be considered when choosing a VP is trust. We can’t risk another Pence.

Tulsi voted to impeach Trump.

Vivek kept saying don’t vote for Trump cause they won’t let him win.

Ben Carson is a legit Christian (unlike Pence), and is the most trustworthy pick of them all. He is insanely smart, and his humbleness brings a good balance.

People trying to prioritize excitement are looking at it the wrong way. Emotions tend to cause you to make bad decisions. Carson is the logical choice.
