Trump and his kids got vax. The government is lying about a lot but the vax seems like a better choice than no vax. The rates of vax are going up because younger and healthier folks are getting very sick.

Well it happens you picked THE worst option as far as the non vaccines go. But we do need lab rats so go for it.

A friend of mine has a brother who is very sick with Covid. May be hospitalized at any time. My friend is considering getting the vax as this hits close to home. We have a mutual friend who is trying to talk him out of getting the vax.

I wish we could have honest dialogue on the whole thing. But that ship has sailed.

This is the correct answer. Measure your own risk, but getting covid isn’t riskless.

Americans have been taking vaccines for decades now. I don't know anyone that hasn't had a variety of immunizations.

People are leery of taking the experimental mRNA shots. It just seems like the whole thing is rather unnecessary. If people were dying in droves, it would be worth the risk. They're not. I don't care what the media is trying to tell us. I'm not seeing it. This isn't the Spanish Flu wiping out families. It's not afflicting healthy, young, people. It's fearporn. It's overblown, just like "climate change" and mass-shootings. People aren't stupid. They are able to calculate risk with their own eyes. If this was the tragedy the media was portraying it to be, there would be pictures of mass graves and people dying in the streets. It's all bullshite. Don't buy into the hype. Go about your business and enjoy your life without fear.

Who's dying?
That could be a little more granular; 70-75, 75-80 and then 80+. 99.5 to a 94.6 is pretty drastic and could be defined way better.

and sorry but I am not basing my decision on people duped by fringe message boards that meme war like BoarEd.

My guess is this is a troll, but I will bite. 11 patients on my covid unit. Only one unvaccinated. But you do you, or whatever that saying is. And good luck surviving the vaccine my 'conservative brother'.

I don't expect to take personal feelings/emotions out of it.

I'm vaxxed, so yeah, I'm hoping for positive data on vaccines every time I read about them. And usually, that's the case. I would assume someone who isn't vaxxed is looking for reasons to bolster that decision and/or data that confirms the opinion that COVID is no real threat to them.

But it's become so over the top that it's pretty worthless to try. I'll admit if my parents were on the fence I'd definitely push them. Anyone else? It's their life. I wouldn't let a young child get it.

I admit I don't really understand why people forcefully try and persuade adults not to get it. "I don't know man, I don't think you're that at risk and the data is iffy on whether it'd really make a difference for you, plus, who knows what we might learn a decade from now. But I won't get in your way, those are just my thoughts." - I get that. But arguing against it based on the idea that there is a significant chance of a (near term) adverse reaction isn't credible.

"surviving' the vaccine. Are you a medical doctor?

And GFY with the people aren't 'conservative' if they get vaxed theme floating in this thread- by some of you loony toons.

I’ve been on the fence about it. But it seems like the vaccines aren’t doing much just based on conversations with people I know. As of now, I’m not taking it and taking my chances.
