JUST IN: South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has called a SPECIAL SESSION to CIRCUMVENT RINO obstruction and finally pass the 7R-0D 2026 Congressional map

LET'S GO! Defeat the RINOs and get this done ????

A Special Session means mere simple majorities are required to get it done.

Full steam ahead!

MCMASTER: "I have issued an Executive Order calling the General Assembly back for an extra legislative session to address the state budget and congressional districts beginning Friday, May 15, at 11:00 AM."

I still remember Nimrata scurrying back and forth between chambers lobbying to get the flag taken down off the monument.

I'm fairly sure that Shane Massey is toast ... although I was told today at lunch that Shane is suddenly changing his vote to now be in favor of redistricting and effectively removing Clyburn from the House. I'm not sure that's going to save Shane at this point. Haven't heard what the other four state senators are going to do ... but I can only imagine that they're all in trouble.

How disconnected do you have to be to say what he said out loud in our current climate? It’s actually impressive it’s so damn stupid or arrogant. I can’t decide which

I posted in the other thread but interested to hear your take: Do you think the new 2nd and Peedee districts have enough red voters to overcome the Dems? Looking at the past election numbers I’m not so sure.

I really do. Plus it'll make some GOP incumbents and candidates finally get off their asses and work for votes and expect to be held accountable. And hey, if they lose they lose. All fair in love, war ... and politics (these days).

The next step is to close our primaries. Once we do that, which is on the agenda, we'll be even more Red imho. Provided the GOP policies put in place benefit the voters and the state.

Another thing working in our favor, especially in those purple districts, are stricter Voter ID laws.

There's a push for this in Alabama too. Would be a great change.

It was political suicide ... but imho it was pure arrogance.

I've been around Shane some, he's always come across as egocentric ... wants everyone to think he's the smartest guy in the room. Blair and him both actually ... and I've always been told, (my wife insiststhis is factual) that Blair is a democrat. He's originally from Greenville so that's not unusual up in that neck of the woods but he let his becoming Senate majority leader go to his head. He's a moderate at best ... which here in SC we call a blue dog democrat these days.

Yeah ... that got passed around among the Senate GOP caucus today and it did not go over well from what I was told. They were, (the ones still in town knowing Henry was about to call a special session), in the halls playing Pence's video.

Pence is pure poison right now.

He doesn't have one. He just cares about starting wars.

The Pee Dee district as constructed is essentially John Spratt's old district, which he lost to Mick Mulvaney. There's more folks in York and Lancaster Counties than all the Pee Dee counties combined (maybe save Florence).

Orangeburg is in the Midlands district that encompasses Richland and Lexington Counties then goes west toward Georgia down to Allendale and Hampton Counties.

If so (probably) Joe Wilson is going to have to work his butt off.

Red:
Lexington
Aiken
North Augusta
Edgefield? (not sure if they are in the new district)
Some rural areas

Blue:
Columbia
Orangeburg
Clyburn’s old blue counties

I think Wilson won by +8 last time and Clyburn won by +6.

I imagine the Dems (black voters) will be motivated.

We’ll see!
