Anyone who is hungry for knowledge can learn however much they want these days. The problem is the ease of everything now has made people lazy. No one has to spend any brain power figuring anything out anymore. Type in what you need help with and boom, you got it.
Going forward, the folks who want to learn and excel are going to lap the lazy folks who just go with the flow.
We are steadily heading for a 2 class society for the most part. You’ll have your multimillionaires and above on one side then everyone else who just breaks even in this life on the other.

This was more an example of corporate/lobbying influence creating a cult-like scenario than a political basis.
Yes and no. It’s weird how it was a corporate/lobbying influence thing. But if you told me how you voted, I could tell you what side of the issue you would be on.
If you were a huge liberal/progressive teacher or administrator, you were 100% all in on “whole language” methods of reading. If you were conservative, you were science of reading/phonemic awareness.

We don't actually need this information to function in society, which is why we forget it.
This is what low achievers tell themselves while they’re standing in line at the Social Security office.

Try 2.5 years. And the dirty secret is that schools haven’t returned to normal.
Staffing is horrible. Discipline is worse. Expectations were reset on the floor and students are still not meeting them.

Not to mention that most of them walk around scared of way too many things. If your twenty-something kid is like this, you failed as a parent.

Department of Education - It's intentional.

Anyone who can’t name all 50 state capitals on command is clearly destined for a life of mediocrity and government dependency.
So glad I don’t live in your reality. For what it’s worth, I can still add fractions with uncommon denominators the old-fashioned way. But I’ve read far too many books since 4th grade to preserve brain space for trivia contests.

The Lord knows you don’t have any to spare. Godspeed.

Their plan has worked perfectly.

Should focus more on teaching the kids to read words on pages.
If you can read, you can do some self-learning.

In this case, they can't even read the names to learn them.
This is a problem.

I feel bad for my gen Alpha kids. They are going to have to employ these gen Z mopes after they have another 15 years of sucking under their belt.

It's nothing new.
What is new is the growing rate of illiteracy in the general population.

Liberals did this. Good job!

Anyone who works with Gen Z people knows they are overconfident in the intelligence they do not possess.

I’ll touch it.
Lots of em can barely speak English so factor them into the equation and the numbers are going to be down.
