I was just making reference to the fact that Iceland is over 90% white being the reason for low violent crime numbers, doesn't matter if they go to church or not.

I don’t know about that. I’ve been an atheist for the past 20 years since my teens and I’m all in on the conservative movement and have been my whole life. I don’t need church to guide my moral compass, just try to be the best human I can. I think religion is definitely good for some people, it’s just not for me. I have full respect for people like Charlie Kirk for preaching what he believed in and agreed with him on 99% of his viewpoints.

They have simply been emboldened by decades of the Right being passively silent.
Don’t be rude.
Dont cause a scene.
Don’t draw attention to your family or your business.
What they actually heard in that silence is that what they are doing is ok & supported by the majority.
We can’t afford to be silent anymore.

Not to derail this thread, but morality in atheism is subjective by definition

There simply can’t be a separation of church and state. They go hand in hand. To think otherwise would go against what God would want.

I been meaning to post that it is a lack of fear of God. Since they believe there is no God, then there will be no punishment from God. And then when God removes their blessings and bad things happen to them, they blame someone else. or another culture, or something

If you need to fear punishment from God to act right then I don't know what to tell you

Nothing has been more clear to me than this:
Being silent in the face of evil is a sin.

I woke up with that on my mind Sunday morning after days of rage then prayer.

If you think you can define “right” without God then I don’t know what to tell you

Historically speaking, church hasn’t been very good at convincing people not to kill. In many cases throughout history, church hasn’t been used as a tool to convince people to kill.

As common-sense as it may seem that there is no qualifier to “Thou Shalt Not Kill.”, people make exceptions in their own minds. For example, Charlie Kirk’s assassin will most likely be killed by our government justice system, and Christians will cheer.

People stopped having morals and I don't think that has anything to do with Church. I don't go to Church but I have morals which come from how I was raised not from listening to a pastor.

And where do you think those morals came from?

Also what happened alot in my generation(mid 30s) is when we actually found out what these Priest and Pastors having been doing to children for 100 years while covering it up and like many we totally turned away from traditional church because many of the pastors and priest are the worst of the worst in society.

That’s not the reason you don’t go to church. That’s the excuse you use to justify it. Come on now. Get in the Word. And get in a church that preaches it.

Murder and kill are two different animals.

You'd do well to learn the difference- biblically speaking, of course.

Wonder how native Americans, or Mormons, or zaoists, taoists, Buddhists, or others could possible have morals without the Bible?
Quite perplexing.

Not perplexing at all. In the post you responded to is the answer.

You are clearly correct. In no way are you twisting a clear message to fit your own ideology. You are obviously not deceiving yourself. Thank you for showing me the light.

You deny the distinction in the unlawful taking of a life vs the just killing in just circumstances.

You are willfully obtuse.

Killing a homeless man, sleeping peacefully in his tent is much different than killing a man actively savaging your daughter.

You know this
I know you know this
You know I know you know this

And thusly, I know who and what you are

I had a Lt. (I'm retired LE) say to me once about 30 years ago,

"A lot of the adults we encounter can name one to three of the Ten Commandments. Their children will recognize the term 'Ten Commandments,' but won't be able to name any of them. Their grandchildren won't know that there is any such thing as the Ten Commandments."

American culture glorifies consumerism, material wealth above all else and toxic individualism. American culture does not elevate charity, generosity or even basic kindness. Our culture doesn’t value church attendance. It values likes and follows.

Charlie Kirk, a social media influencer, was senselessly and tragically murdered the same day minors were targeted and shot at school. This board has been inundated with thread after thread about the death of the influencer with barely any discussion about the children shot at school. That speaks to the priorities of the average American.
