Italian Prime Minister orders all businesses closed. No travel what so ever, no body in or out.

First time since WWII.

Italy is a huge producer of steel, specifically exotic alloys that are difficult to obtain here (high nickel alloys like alloy 625). They also have huge fabrication companies.

This will be a big deal to some industries

My company builds equipment for the biggest plants in America (P&G, Nestle, Clorox, Johnson & Johnson, etc)

Now those plants have no way to get parts. If lines shut down they won’t be able to get back up until Italy is back in business.

Ripple effects are a bitch.

No, but I'm thankful for cognates.

quote:

Yes.

The headline of the article you linked says:
quote:

Coronavirus, Conte: "Stop throughout Italy for non-essential production activities" In one day 793 deaths, never so many
The paragraph under the headline says:
quote:

Supermarkets and pharmacies remain open, transport is also guaranteed. It is the most serious crisis since the second post-war period. "In Lombardy, outdoor sports are forbidden, even by oneself

That’s a long way from your thread topic, “Italy Just Ceased All Business”

Your thread is fake news.

Really? Stop everything but food and drug in America and see how our lives get completely turned upside down.

Right now all our production plants are running and delivering goods to the grocery. Just wait til that ends.

Yes, really.

Transport means delivery of goods, including food and medicine.
