Also, did you know that the Japanese have a dolphin-stabbing festival every year?
That area of the globe is fricked in the head.

What about a pig, cow or chicken? Face it people eat different things in different regions because they have different plants and animals in different regions. There are 350 wet markets in all of China and only 1 level 4 bio lab that was studying cornavirus in bats that happens to be located in Wuhan. What seems more statistically significant?

It is asinine to say that we eat pig cow or chicken alive or cause the most amount of pain possible to the animals.
You are wrong. Run with your lab hypothesis, but it doesn't change the fact that the wet markets are disgusting and barbaric.

"fresh" is important in Chinese markets. The population does not trust frozen meat. They want to see blood oozing out of the meat they buy. They like to see fish killed and cleaned as they buy it. One market I went into had a large tank of large mouth bass. (It is silly here not to let farm raised bass and sac a lait be sold.)

Scientists are having REAL trouble finding an actual match anywhere, thus far.
The earlier “99% match” came from the Chinese government. Misinformation?

The CPAC Virus is spreading rapidly in Louisiana. Call your representative and demand the CDC make more CPAC Virus tests available now!

I'm fairly ignorant on this subject as I havn't lived in China but it is my understanding they buy the live animals so they are fresh. Then they cook them, which I do know kills pathogens including corona viruses. Do you have any sources of people actually eating live or raw animals as common practice in China?

videos if you want to google them. I am not venturing down that path again. Give dog meat festival a go if you wish as well.

I mean there's videos of Americans shooting bottle rockets from their a-hole, that doesn't mean that is the norm. here on the 4th of july. There is all kinds of videos of people doing crazy shite but I mean is there real documentation or even anecdotal evidence that eating raw wild animals is the general practice or is it that they cook them fresh like we do with lobster and crawfish?

Furthermore this opened my eyes to the actual "dog meat festival" that they hold and how disgusting of a culture this is.
So we need to make everyone like America?
A cow is OK in your superior view, but a dog isn't?

You call it barbaric and disgusting to eat living wild animals. How is that different than hunters in the US? We hunt and eat wild animals all the time.
bc they are eating wild exotics not meant for human consumption
that and the wet markets are fricking gross

Pigs, cows, and chickens have been bred by mankind specifically for consumption over thousands of years. Eating a bat that been living in its shite for two months is not the same. Neither is using communal plastic meat buckets full of blood sitting on the ground or tarps that are never washed that everyone puts their hands in. The bubonic plague, SARS, Spanish flu, and this covid shite all originated from China.

Again, eating an animal specifically bred for consumption is the same as eating dog meat because moral relativism or something.

They are eating live animals? shite. Must be a hell of a thing trying to keep them on the plate.

Well, you either starve or eat dog meat. Your choice.

It is not racist to call out the need to change their culture that puts the whole world at risk.
Again, live in a 3rd world for a few years, then you can protest the poor. Because you are essentially calling for poor people to eat better, when that is not an option.

They have animals living in small cages that are stacked on top of one another. Plenty of the animals there are covered in feces and urine because of this. They kill and prepare the animal right there before you if you want. And you damn well know many aren’t wearing hairnets, gloves, aprons, etc.
Animals like bats also carry lots of diseases.
They also have raw meat hanging out in the open.
This doesn’t represent most Chinese, but there’s still millions of people that visit these markets. They’re massive. In addition China is extremely crowded which allows diseases to spread easily.

Shun all you want. You live in a country with a billion people and can't feed yourself, then yes. You will eat whatever is in front of you.
Maybe you can go find some pigmy culture in some indonesian rain forest and wag your finger at them too.

Says who? Biology disagrees with you. Just because you think it's cute or pretty doesnt' mean it isn't edible.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Living in a first world country, i find many 3rd world civilizations and their practices "gross". But, if you've never been starving, you can't really judge.

India is just as crowded and even more poor but they don’t eat all kinds of bush meat. According to some Chinese, it’s mostly the older/traditional Chinese that have things like the dog festival.
