re: Isn't President Trump’s "deal with Putin" just the President bypassing US legal sanctions?

So, same question: what concession is Putin making in getting to sell as much diesel as he wants?

Trump is simply trying to get some relief for the American consumer and salvage something in the midterms. For that, I applaud him.
Disagree, now I've lost all respect for the man. I would have have rather he played the long game.- let Russia bleed out.
I could almost support his Iran "engagement" given it undermined Russia to an extent. But not with this news.
Will a shipment of diesel change the outcome of an election, 30 days out? Just dumb. Very disappointing.

do you understand that the russian diesel sold on the market is not for us?
there doesnt need to be a concession besides just allowing them to do it
if the deal is even real, we may see lower diesel prices in the US as the additional product relieves some demand pressure after the midterms but this additional diesel supply would benefit the European Union most of all.
Europe is entering winter with sky high fuel prices - diesel, fuel oil and gasoline. Any price relief would help them
the reality is Russia probably wont be able to meet the terms of the deal due to damage to their refineries and the numbers are not really big enough to really move the market anyway.
the whole thing is more about sending strong messages to ukraine than actually moving diesel prices

Yeah it’s the 272 Republicans that are in congress that are the problem not Trump. Do you see how insane that line of thinking is?
I'm so crazy that I didn't even believe the 51 who declared a particular laptop story to be false.

How does it benefit the US?
