How many cartoons and Disney shows have talking animals living amongst one another? A jaguar and gazelle working as police animals ? Kids are not taught reality anymore, they're taught a dream world and they're anxious and depressed because their dream world will never be no matter how much they scream for it.
This is dumb. Gen X grew up on Saturday morning cartoons.

It's a shame that the hundreds of generations that worked in hell, fought wars, crossed oceans, explored continents, invented things, etc., to make the modern world such an easy place aren't around to enjoy it. Instead, we have a bunch of bitches that do.

But, I have long thought that our society, mainly movies, TV shows, and even commercials, have been pushing kids to grow up too fast. How many commercials have we seen young kids in adult situations? Like acting like they’re at a club instead of a 10 year old birthday party. Hollywood has done a good job of shrinking the window of innocence and tried to influence kids to try adult stuff way too early.
It’s the worst of both worlds.
Delaying responsibility and accountability while reducing the age of innocence.
They’re scared to interact with people in normal situations - like customer service situations or finding out the answer to a question.

Reading this my mind went to Disney adults instantly

There was a “kid” behind me on the plane yesterday. He was with his mom, and he was complaining to her the whole time. He was constantly whining about the accommodations wherever they were headed, and how this better be like so and that person better not say such and such. The mom coddled him.
I would guess he was 25, which is one year younger than Napoleon was when he put down the rebellion in Paris.

Personally I’m doing my best to raise adults in my house.
That's what I did. When we set expectations and lead by example, our children will develop the skills necessary to function without us one day.
They will study and make better grades
They will choose like minded close friends
They will choose a successful degree
They will understand expectations
They will learn how to prioritize
And most of all, they will consult with you for advice
Biggest thing was to know they were likely to fail doing something and let them fail. Then we could reflect and learn.

This is spot on. The culture of the Helicopter parent and the iPhone have destroyed this generation.
Don't forget the epidemic of today's kids raising kids. Thanks to another leftie push..."the sexual revolution".

Practical people who were able to distinguish reality from fiction. This isnt the case anymore.

We have put a huge emphasis on feelings at the expense of facts.

While there is a certain stunt to young people development today, these stories are very anecdotal and most young people that I know are much further along in their work ethic, ambition, comprehension than we were (early 40s crew) at the same age
The actual data backs up OP.
