I understand not everyone was in favor, but I'd say a majority of this board was.

Has the overall opinion changed?

No. Just keep the drones flying and drop a bomb into someone’s car seat when needed. Profit.

I'd like to get out. Conduct everything by drones/air if possible.

We need to understand though that we will never be out of the ME completely. Embassies will remain and require protection.

No.

Still in favor.

But while we are there, I have no issue with retaliatory actions in response to threats.

We should in no way get involved in another crazy invasion farce.

I only saw a dozen or so people saying this. They don't understand geopolitics.

This may help us get out of Iraq more quickly.

Iran has been meddling in Iraq as a proxy for years. They won't back the frick off.

Maybe they'll get the message now.

I’d like us to leave- but leave no standing infrastructure in our wake.

Those wackadoodles wanna live in the 9th Century, let them.

No, and that's just a stupid generalization. I, and everyone I talked with last night, still want out.

They've been fighting over that land since ancient times, you really think we're going to change it? Hell, we've failed miserably since I was in middle school...cut our losses and get the frick out.

I prefer realistic options. Pulling out of the ME is never going to happen, no matter which Libertarian you guys support. I support Trump's ME policy, which is to use the most powerful military in the world to defend US interests, people, and allies, and to do so decisively.

I'm still in favor of it but they keep pulling us back in. You simply can't turn and walk away when someone is continually trying to punch you in the back of your head.

Aren't there only like 5000 US soldiers in Iraq?

Still in favor. Quit being in places where we aren’t wanted and are being targeted. Use precision strikes only when necessary.

Of course.

If the attack was part of an overall strategy of showing strength and reciprocity
in order to extract ourselves from there, no problem.

But if this is part of becoming proxies for certain parties in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or Israel, then nothing has changed.

There are maybe only a dozen or so consistently anti-war posters on this board. I count myself as one of them.
