The frick with that. First thing states will do is sell them for development and profit.

You want the entire country to be privatized like Texas or do you want some semblance of wilderness to remain out West where you are free to hunt it for the price of a tag?

Public lands remaining with the Fed is the lesser of two evils.

Bruh, Seattle has more litter and trash along the roads and sidewalks alone than Mississippi and Louisiana combined.

ve seen list of the local positions cut, and the rationale is baffling. Seems like a hatchet job.

From what I understand most firings are people recently hired that are in probationary period in all agencies. I think it’s easier by law to get rid of them

I do feel bad for some. Guy that works for USDA bird depradation program for catfish farmers just moved here from Idaho for the job few weeks ago. Spent everything he had on the move. I’m not sure if he was fired I’ll find out tomorrow

I heard about those two. They're racist as hell.

What a stupid thing to say. Have you been anywhere in the NW outside of Seattle?

No doubt W or Romney would have everything straightened out by now and you voted for both of them, so your opinions about anything concerning all things “conservative” should be taken with the same amount of respect as a child

Yep. Forest and park Rangers, and a good number of them are vets. Not exactly the pink pussy hat wearing liberal DEI deep state bureaucrats they said they were going for.

They’re trimming all of them. It will affect good people but it’s necessary. What do Fortune 500 companies on verge of bankruptcy do? They reduce workforce and focus on running more efficiently. That’s the state of our federal govt right now. It has to be done, and it will be painful for some. If we don’t do it, it will be more painful when we finally do.

Had we done it 15 years ago, it would have been less painful

It's OK. Just admit it. You'll feel better, probably.

Nope.

Nice try.

I think each state should pay their park rangers as well as upkeep of their parks. In turn each state receives a certain amount of federal money to put towards their parks. Just like what Trump wants to do with education. You have to ask yourself how much “kickback, fraud, and waste” is at the federal level when it comes to the national park service.

Let DOGE do their job and then let Trump reorganize the whole system to run efficiently without waste fraud and kickbacks. I’m sure after all that states will have more than enough money for their education departments and park services!

I've encountered several NPS rangers that fit that description.

New hires are MUCH easier to terminate than people at the top of the food chain It sounds like any employee considered probationary got canned because you can terminate them at any time with no effort.

I understand that. I was a hospital CFO for over 30 years. Still need to evaluate the need for those positions versus just getting rid of every probationary employee in the building.

They are apparently planning to sell off most of the parks for oil and gas exploration etc

Is there some rationale?

Maybe they have far too many employees for what is necessary to manage the national parks?

I don’t believe that. Would need some evidence that is the intent. I would think both sides of the aisle would hate this.

Known Democrat? Lol that’s comical even coming from the cult of Rog. Let me guess you voted independent because your deep roots in conservatism prevented you from voting for them. Your opposition to Trump during the election speaks for itself who has been the only President in the last 50 years to attempt to do anything about government corruption whether he achieves it or not is irrelevant considering Mitch is still in the Senate with several useless Republicans in the House. No worries though, you keep complaining about everything related to Trump

That’s because they were actively recruiting them.

Conservatives are by far the biggest supporters financially and otherwise of the National Park Service. This is going on at the CC like a fly in the soup
