there are a few bad apples in every orchard, but they are easily avoided. If you think I care about who you date, or go to church, you are way more wrong than you've ever been.
How about this for a definition - I don't care who you date, or where you go to church, or if you do at all, but I sure as hell will get back in your face if you DEMAND that I support whatever the hell you do. If you tell me I have to learn a brand new language and update the meaning of common words every day to keep up with the latest new 'gender' discovered by some pimple faced idiot with green hair and a lip bone then I will surely not pleased.
Here's a good idea - do what you want to do - just don't expect to be celebrated for it unless someone WANTs to cheer you on. Let people who think you are nuts just go about their own business - because if that fact bothers you, then YOU are the one acting entitled.
A lot of us have seen a lot of things drift by - and we've had our share of comeuppance's when we got out of line. We are not interested in fighting for the sake of fighting, but a lot of us just won't sit around and take a lot of bullshite someone is trying to sell us.

I work in local politics and have heard republican party officials discuss ALL of those. Usually not 10 minutes after saying how “pro-freedom” they were. Far too much “freedom for me, but not for thee”. You would have to be blind not to see that there are a LOT of socially conservative republicans running around with some ideas for government policy that are extremely restrictive on individual liberty in the name of religion. I mean, Mike Johnson is Speaker of the House! He has all kinds of wildly right of center views on social issues! I think he’s typically great on fiscal, admin law, and foreign policy issues, but the right has its share of fun police that care too much about being moral fuddy duddies as much as the left does. The left usually uses climate change or anti-colonialism/anti-racism to justify their fun police. The right uses Christianity, typically in very unchristian ways, I might add, and I’m a Christian myself!

No shite. You’re not the problem. I’m talking about the kinds of republicans who claim to be for small government, but then refuse to support a candidate for office because when he was on the zoning board, he allowed a landowner to open a bar on his property along a commercial highway, opposed a candidate because they voted for legalizing sports gambling, refused to endorse a winning candidate with a strong conservative voting record because they were gay, or who cracked down on a qualified candidate because they were seen hanging out in bars.
I don’t give a shite what color your hair is, who you f$&k, or if you worship The Fonz or Satan so long as you keep my taxes low, make sure that government services operate effectively and efficiently, hold government officials accountable for malfeasance/incompetence, and keep government from expanding into areas it doesn’t belong in.
