Yes, saying "All Lives Matter" is code for "you don't understand". You'd think All Lives Do Matter, but that's not the case with certain segments of our society right now. You can't say that.

Yes, the niece's reaction did communicate insecurity on her part and also lack of empathy for her family, blacks live taken by blacks that get ignored, and the white lives taken by cops and by blacks at even greater numbers. It was definitely a weak move on part of the niece.

Exactly. Why do blacks get upset that all lives should matter including blacks killed by blacks and whites killed by blacks and cops?
It's is very weak and communicates insecurity.
Black lives don't matter to all blacks, so why get offended when someone says all lives matter which includes all blacks, whites, and so on? At some point the cycle of blacks disproportionately committing violent crime including against themselves and others has to end. At some point the disproportionately number of black lives taken through abortions has to end. All lives matter.

The term itself is not racist in my eyes. Now it is insensitive but not racist. And just because someone does support Trump does not make them racist. Hell I don’t think Trump is racist. A cocky, arrogant, egotistical a-hole, yes but a racist I don’t think so.

Basically. No black person is trying to say any other life doesn’t matter. They are saying after yet another example black lives continue to not matter as much. Saying “all Lives matter” right now is just out right insensitive and from my experience most people proclaiming do have racist intent behind it.
Saying all lives matter right now would be like me going to a funeral for someone’s son and as they are talking about how amazing and special he was stopping them and pointing to my alive son and saying what about him? Isn’t my son amazing and special as well?
