Look, I hate the mob mentality. I agree with the poster above who said his niece screwed this up too. She could have explained why she was clearly offended by the comment. To assume everything is racist is ridiculous. The majority of it is some combination of stupidity and oblivion.
The extreme stances everyone takes helps no one.

I just hate to see people who have built up a lot of good will get torn down so easily. I think Drew Brees and the OP's wife have done enough in the past in their respective situations to have earned a certain benefit of the doubt.

After what happened to Brees; I can definitely agree with this. But I still believe had it been a more unified stance, than we would have seen this reform by now.
Which is another factor in believing this is just a political movement used to instill fear to control the vote of the masses.

I do to, but at the same time, why even comment on this extremely sensitive subject, right now, in the 1st place? He’s pretty media savvy, but this was a rare slip up, and a pretty big one, from a PR perspective, at that....

So you have no answer to my well reasoned post. The Black Lives Matter movement is predicated on the idea that white people are superior to black people. It's implicit and undeniable. Support of the movement validates this belief. Do you think that this is a white supremacist nation? I bet the supporters of BLM do. I reject the premise of white supremacy and therefore cannot support BLM.
