It gives me no pleasure in seeing how dangerous NO is. I have fond memories of visiting family down there back in the eighties and nineties growing up. It’s certainly got its awful areas, but it also has some really amazing areas that are unique and worth saving. I am hoping the national guard is brought in to help curb crime, but at some point there has to be a cultural change and violent criminals have to be locked away for good.

That was on Bienville St, Mid City about the 4300 block. The murder was on Canal Street in the 3400 block. Mid City.
Same area About a mile apart.

Less than a mile. Those two locations are about 8 or so blocks in total from each other, at most.

It's pretty pathetic the natives on NOLA are defending their shite city. I wouldn't be caught dead there. Frick their corrupt politicians and their garbage police force and DA's.

When I was moving to Trinidad from New Orleans the owner was talking to the VP of the Caribbean and said "Trini has never lived abroad, last two guys we put in Caribbean Islands quit on us, ya sure he will be okay?"

My boss said, he is moving from New Orleans. Owner says, what does that matter? Boss said, you have never been to Trinidad, crime is terrible....just like NO, corruption is terrible.....just like NO, and everyone likes to party....just like NO. For Trini it will be like crossing the street

they commit most of the crimes. That’s something that isn’t popular with black voters.

And this is the problem: solidarity with people due to skin color. I don't give a frick if we lock up a million white criminals. I don't care about them and have nothing in common with them. Our skin color is not a bond. Therein lies the difference.

He was car jacked, shot and killed at like 8pm. He wasn't in a bad neighborhood or anything. Car jacking have gotten so bad I don't even go over there anymore and wont anytime in the future.

If only they had some kind of Magic 8 Ball that could tell them who the carjackers are, they could solve this conundrum.

Oh wait, they do. It's called arrest records. They know exactly who these people are. It's a rare day when some fresh meat gets arrested. It's the same people every time.

This shook me bad. There is a mental health crisis in this country! The guy who killed the father was found in Metairie with a gun shot wound to his head. Not sure if it was self-inflicted or what.

That daycare seems to be cursed. I feel so bad for everyone affected.

A day or two before this happened, a man was killed by a neighbor’s kid in Bayou St. John after opening his front door at like 7:30 am.

It was a horrible crime, but there have always been single incidents of violent crime. As horrible as it is, we have to be careful about extrapolating to the overall
crime situation in the city. I’ve lived here for over 20 years, and I can’t say that we’re in more danger as individuals than ever

Yes, we can't stereotype, recognize patterns, or extrapolate anything....

Unless someone is a Republican. Then they are racist nazis that should be taken out of context and met with violence.

We get it, Violence Over Reason

There were 9 murders in 7 days in New Orleans.

Every murder is a single incident of crime.

New Orleans is the fastest-shrinking large U.S. major metro shithole, with a population decline of 4% since 2020. These goofball posters who will defend that dumpster fire of a city would do so while their families are being robbed and murdered.

All Katrina did was buy that shithole some time.
