Yes he was a tyrannical dictator
So you call HPL a tyrannical dictator but don't want to lump him in with Edwin and Blanco because "he did some good"?!
That is like saying Mussolini was not that bad of a dictator because he made the trains run on time. Many of the states problems today can be traced back to that tyrannical dictator.

tyranny is another category dude
i assure you...if EE was given the opportunity like JBE has gotten with this virus he would've taken it to a whole other level that no other state in this country has seen.

Bobby Jindal was a good guy.
You lost all credibility with this comment. Jindal was a giant POS when it came time to put this state first. He pandered to the national spotlight because early on in his career the GOP tagged him as their next big thing. Plus he wasn't white so they thought they had something extra special.
Turns out he raped higher ed and healthcare. He constantly stole from the rainy day fund to fill budget holes. He inherited a billion $$ surplus and turned it into an almost 2 billion $$ debt. He made deal after deal that did nothing buy handicap the state. He was a train wreck of a governor for this state.

Bill Clinton and 1980s Southern Democrats were closer to present-day Republicans than they are to present-day Democrats.

no. not even close. louisiana had much worse than this fool

Louisiana has had worse. That’s not a compliment to John Bell, just an indictment of the kinds of tyrants this state has a penchant for electing.

Bill Clinton was not a typical "southern Democrat"
you know that
you know that

"tyrants" for lustful intent to inhibit people's freedom?
Prove it. You know that's not true. They stole money, okay, that's not "tyranny"
Who reveled in locking human beings down before this guy? Show examples.

Did he lock you in your house?

Louisiana voters had a very clear alternative to Edwards in two elections. Can't let the voters off the hook.
Edwards will not forward Louisiana in any discernable way and that appears to be the way the citizens of the state prefer it.

Bobby talked a good game and when elected was thought to be a rising star.
However, by the end of his second term he was an absentee governor who sold off state assets to balance the budget.
By most accounts his job performance was terrible. I doubt he will ever be elected to a statewide office again.

Forgive my ignorance...I was out of the country for most of his admin. Also, please note that I hate all politicians equally. I don’t see a true difference between most republicans and dems. I like Trump primarily because every other politician hates him. If all of the trash in DC hates your guts, you’re probably a good guy and a true patriot. I remember absentee voting for BJ, but that’s about it.
Explain to me how BJ “raped higher ed and healthcare” please. Also please explain the downside of using liquidity to cover budget shortfalls when needed. Again, I’m not being a smart arse...I’m honestly confused about the statement you made.

Do you even Huey Long, bro? We had a card-carrying communist dictator as a governor for a long time. He would have been president if he hadn't been assassinated!
He used the state's property tax system to systematically steal thousands upon thousands of acres of private land which he funneled to his family's own land corporation that leased it to oil and gas exploration companies and made a fortune. That's right, they stole entire homesteads and farms from families based on just a few cents in unpaid taxes, often based on an accounting error without ever notifying the families that they owed any money until they came to seize the land.
