Is it true that Brian Kemp is opposing a criminal probe of DA Fani Willis?

Two separate issues. Kemp opposed going after Willis BEFORE the latest issues came up with her supposed lover. Kemp does approve of an investigation into that now. You guys are getting worked up over misleading tweets which isn't a shock.

This was discussed in a thread on here last week. Kemp said he is 'very troubled' by the accusations against Willis and thinks it absolutely should be investigated/looked into. Article was directly from the AJC.
He did not want to go after Willis before this info came out "just because" and said it would set a bad president to go after people without evidence. It is related to this legislation he passed himself:

The Georgia Legislature did a great job with the bill to hold DA’s accountable for their actions. The intent of the legislation was to hold DA’s accountable who were not enforcing the law. Not sure if it could apply to Willis since she’s going the opposite direction and trying to prosecute someone for questionable reasons.

Correct which is why Kemp despite being urged to do such by state legislature Republicans didn't want to go after Willis "just because" and try and remove her. Looking into the affair and funneling money to her lover is a totally different issue which Kemp supports looking into. Either way, both would result in Willis being removed from office.
