While the country is hungry for efficiencies and elimination of wasteful spending, is it time to discuss the disaster that is the HBCU suite of institutions?

Or is it simply too hot to touch politically?

Well, I understand the sentiment (I think) that if the dollars flowed to more traditional institutions of higher learning, and these same HBCU students were to attend these more traditional colleges, that the education they'd receive would be based on their merit as a student and less on culturally and racially biased programming, er, classes.

Right?

Integration of "white" colleges (and especially college sports) killed HBCUs

Why isolate HBCUs? My sense is there are quite a few colleges in need of overhaul. If memory serves correct that was a topic of discussion in Louisiana in recent years....kind of like a 'chicken in every pot.'

I do believe we will see higher education having to either downsize or further alter operations to remain viable.

Why would we eliminate any university of higher learning? What is your purpose to get rid of any university?

Trump all in on HBCU gravy train

The same guy who said we need to defund / slash the DOE…is same guy who promised $250 million a year to HBCUs.

Pandering clownery.
