He doesn’t say much about politics which probably means get conservative by Hollywood standards. I think the only time he’s every openly supported a presidential candidate was Rudy Guliani when he was attempting to get the Republican nomination.

I’ve had this night many times. The discussion is usually very healthy, at a camp type setting.

Like the gambler said though… you gotta know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away… and know when to run…

Yeah, you experiment with things in your early 20s, take it up a level in mid to late 20s, then sit back and savor the fruits of your knowledge and experience throughout your 30s. As for the 40s, even though an honest tune and a lingering lead has taken you that far, it’s probably a good idea to go ahead start wrapping up the full time action and segue into semi-retired part time action.

Now if you find yourself in your 50s smoking crack regularly, and a steady rotation of hookers are your only pals, and for some strange reason you’re compelled to video every bit of it…….stop the crack, keep the hookers. Or at least stop during the weekdays.

And funny you mentioned know when to hold em and so on and so forth, I was going to include that chorus earlier in the thread. Guess I forgot. But that’s neat-o anyway.

Words to the wise here. I turned 40 this past March. Just hit one year clean and sober October 15. I would rather stick around with my health to watch my daughter grow old…

Everything you said was truth.

Regarding Sandler, if I made movies bet your arse all my good time buds would get roles in them, political views be damned.

Some of my best friends are die hard republicans. My parents are Trump/Desantis fans and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. People who let politics/politicians ruin their families & friendships are truly pawns of the system. So much more to life. This will be downvoted by people who are are sad & alone from already detaching themselves from others they once cared about but now don’t, due to politics.

You chose wisely indeed. There’s no future in it, that’s for sure. One way or another.

So you’re 40, I’m 45, and it’s highly possible we’ve walked right past each other at more than one WSP. Now those were the days, mid-20s, two or three nights of debauchery, NOLAWEEN Mikey Panic. Best times of my life not involving family.

Yea that old dusty trail always leads to a worthy convo in the beer line!

Cheers to the good life of days past and those yet to come.

May your glass be filled!

I watched the interview last week. Rob kind of hinted at Sandler (and most of Rob Schneider’s Hollywood friends) being a conservative, but keeps it quiet due to not rocking the boat.

My best friend right now is a liberal Democrat from Boston.

Politics makes up less than 10% of what we talk about. Mostly football and food (he is a chef, and a good one)

Agreed. Sandler probably agrees with Rob more than most people think. The difference is, Sandler still works a lot and gets roles. Schneider, not so much. You can be a welder, truck driver, Wal-Mart manager and let it be known you are conservative, but not an actor if you want to work.

Wait, are hookers good friends or not? Asking for another friend.

Oh they’ll act like they’re your best friend ever. Which granted they are for an hour. But what they’d really like to do is take all the money you have without having to do anything for it. Pretty much like your standard wife situation.

There is no reason to stop being friends. This is how normal adults behave.

All of my “former friends” chose to end contact because I’m not woke enough for them.

So in my limited experience, the “abnormal people” have all been leftists.

That's the normal thing to do... people that end friendships and relationships with people are the abnormal ones. Some of my closest friends have different views and values than me and that's ok. If you can only be friends with people that thing and vote just like you...it probably doesn't say much about you as a person imo

So true. Well said!
