Honduras is ok. I enjoyed my visits there.

Guatemala is a hellhole.

Haven't visited El Salvador.

Nicaragua was the safest of the bunch before the civil uprising, that's still ongoing.

I’d recommend you don’t visit El Salvador.

Yes and no.

Just stay out of Guatemala City and then stay away from the gangs and the extortionists and don’t run afoul of the local vigilantes and don’t drink the water or eat the chicken or the fish.

It’s pretty awesome if you do that.

My wife is from Honduras. Yes it’s that bad. It sucks. And I don’t blame anyone for risking anything to get out.

We are 100% being scammed into taking people not wanted by their home countries.

Honduras is pretty terrible. Let’s not try to act like it isn’t just because this shite is happening. Our church is a sister parish to one down there. My wife and in laws have gone on mission trips 10-20 times. Kids are abandoned left and right. 14 year olds go to the nutrition center to be taught how to raise the kid they just birthed. The country is dirt poor. Just because this one guy deals with the very few people there that aren’t doesn’t mean anything.

This guys tweets are basically “see mexico is safe. I go to Cancun all the time.”

When you have massive wealth next to abject poverty there are issues. Lots of pretty crime. In Nicaragua, everyone is pretty much equally poor.

Yes, instead of coming here and trying to turn our country into theirs.

Honduras really is pretty terrible. I was talking to a guy when we were there and he was saying his father hadn't worked for 3 or 4 years because he could not find work. He said it wasn't that bad before the cruise ships started stopping in Roatan and bringing American dollars. When that happened, the price of everything went up to about what we pay here, but their wages didn't. He said they make on average $10-15 per day. And a coke costs about $1.50.

Wait, are NPCs saying that the mob heading to the border is a bunch of people seeking asylum?

Have been to Nicaragua. It felt safe but there just isn't much in the way of any industry or economy. It's poor but its a socialist country so you didn't see abject poverty.

That was before the recent uprising though.....
