Quotes from the founding fathers don't govern the nation.

I'm sorry this one is hard for you to comprehend.

it would be easier if you could find me something a founding father said that goes against my point.

i know you really don't want to help people out, but not everybody despises humanity the way you do

how about we look at what they did, namely when they were in political office?

where did the founders make any sort of a push to have the federal government involved in health care?

This was my argument if education isn't a right then healthcare sure as shite isn't either.

You are either being a troll on this subject, or you have a complete and utter inability to understand context. Not to mention zero knowledge on the Constitution and the political philosophy behind it.

Your point is that you think Jefferson intended "Preservation of Life".

OK.

That didn't make the cut.

It doesn't actually matter what he "intended".

How do you not get that?

I'm reasonably certain in THIS thread that I said exactly the opposite.

You should comprehend better.

Now, all you're doing is playing the standard leftist game of "don't agree with my solution = you don't care".

It's literally all you idiots have.

its a shame Jefferson was in France when they framed the constitution. :(

Still would love to read another founding father's quote on life. i know direct quotes from the people who created the country don't seem fitting in a talk about governing the country, but i think they just may be related

it seems like most of those arguing against it being a right just don't want the less privileged in society having the same access to healthcare they get through their private, mostly employer provided, health insurance.

That's such an intellectually weak answer.

No one is against anyone else having healthcare, they're against being forced to pay for someone else to have it.

OK. All I want is a quote from the founding fathers saying we should ignore the documents they produced and instead, govern via shite they said prior the production of those documents.

Trust me, you don't actually want that. Some of our founders had some pretty quirky ideas individually.

So, your position is that if ONE founder took a position, and no other founder even addressed it, that said position of ONE founder that didn't even make it into our documents is governing?

Yeah. You don't really want that. Our founders pondered a great many ideas that I don't think would be too popular today.

You should look one post above yours.

Regardless, anyone in this country with a life threatening process can get care. So, right or not, it happens.

Your question actually is more of general care and comfort. That fall in the realm of happiness, not life.

Who even cares if it ain't written in the constitution then the point is moot.

he was still President and actually likely violated the Constitution wile in office

again, if healthcare was in any way intended by ANY FF, i'm sure we'd see policy enacted while they held power

waiting for data

Alexander Hamilton didn't want a Bill of Rights.

Should we repeal them because hey, a "founder" said they were unnecessary.

Has Machine actually read the extensive writings of our founders in the lead up to the Constitution?

I have.

There's a reason we didn't just elect ONE of them King and say, "his quotes are final".
