I love DeSantis as my governor. The man is a strong leader and he reeks of competence. Is he better than Trump?

I think it depends. Trump was elected to stir things up. Expose the unitary. Drain the swamp. I have yet to see that attitude from DeSantis.

DeSantis is a great leader, and he will do a good job at espousing conservative values, but I am not confident that he will do much more than hold the globalists at bay for a little while. He has not shown that he wants to follow the money and go on the offensive against the corruption in our alphabet agencies and our military industrial complex.

I think having Trump for another term would help the American people understand the depravity that exists in DC and set the table for DeSantis to come in and govern.

Better question:

How do we know DeSantis won’t be controlled by the establishment?

Yeah I mean he could put people like Elaine chao, John Bolton and Rex tillerson in his cabinet.

No way we could take a chance on that

If by better you mean able to be purchased by a hedge fund then yes, he is better.

He will support Paul Ryan for speaker, appoint a longtime Goldman Sachs exec to run the Treasury, and will name Reince Priebus his chief of staff.

Oh wait….

Just remember this…

To the money that runs this country, POTUS and Governor of Florida are two vastly different things. And Desantis the Presidential candidate will be a far cry from the persona he’s built to date.

I'm betting Donald didn't realize the extreme depth of corruption in DC. I'll be honest, I had no idea how bad it is.
Trump was stabbed in the back repeatedly by Swampy "Republicans".

I like Trump, but he is his own worst enemy. He could have gone for 2 terms, and been the greatest POTUS in history, if not for his demeanor/ego

DeSantis, imo, has the potential to be great. Smart, we'll spoken, and has shown that he's willing to stand up to the left.

The only thing I know for sure, unequivocally, is that the deep state, assisted by the media, will never allow Trump back in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

He doesn't run his mouth like DJT does. That's my favorite part of the Prsident, but it causes too many problems for him.

i think desantis was in favor of TPP. that was a huge trade deal that obama was trying to rush through. trumps election shut that down. trump wanted to bring jobs and industry back to america through tariffs. that is why these global corporations hated trump.

Desantis will do what it takes to win.

The funny thing about his is most people who support Donald Trump are 100% ignorant of the policies they espouse. Trump is a mercantilist, which is not a bad thing its just archaic.

Republicans will have to go directly to black and hispanic men with their messages, White dudes are getting too soft.

They couldn’t be more exposed, but too many republican voters are hopeless suckers. This thread is just one of endless examples of this.

I think this is the root of the question here, and I think we will know the answer by the point he runs, if the media doesn’t have an all out blitz to ruin him then he’s likely a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Or maybe more accurate for this analogy a sheep on wolfs clothing

Yeah, it worked out so great that the most corrupt, swampy DC elite control every aspect of our federal government a mere six years later and the GOP just got trashed in the midterms where every objective indicator suggested that it should have been a cleansing.

The problem with Trump has never been his overall vision. It’s his unbelievable ability to lose focus at every turn and fall off message while needlessly being abrasive.

Has the establishment controlled him in Florida?

Did he go the "establishment" route in regards to COVID or groomers?

You need to realize that Trump is the Republican version of Hillary Clinton. Disliked and despised by well over half the country. That is not a good starting point for 2024.

How many MAGA members have signed up to work elections, campaigns, talk in schools since Trump lost?
