Man I would hate to be stuck in SELA if something like that happened. The heat and humidity are damn near unlivable to me without electricity.

I dont get who want to attack us? China has us by the balls as it is, what gain do they have by attacking us with an EMP? It would only assure that it would kill off all the useful idiots who are destroying this country currently.

An EMP is damn near 100% going to be the opening attack in a hot World War 3. An enemy nation almost doesn't even have to do anything else, either, just sit back and watch America's tech addicted society tear itself to ribbons.

If a country wanted to actually harm us it’s the best way. It would cause a civil war . The attacker may never have to worry about pay back .

A real EMP would knock out the grid . Fry all vehicles made after about 1980 . Fry everyone’s computers , cell phones . In about three days , society would break down in the inner cities and probably within a year … probably 70 percent of the population would be dead .

Reason being, it would destroy any ability to track and surveil people where the electrical grid was destroyed, and would actually empower resistance and counter ops due to the ability to move about and organize without fear of "Big Brother" tracking your every move.
All points of interest have been marked to a pin point all over the U.S. since the Cold War era. You simply wipe out our grid and deploy at will until you have nothing left.

all the enemy has to do is detonate a nuke over the US high in the atmosphere
And it's not necessarily global either. It can be localized to a single municipality, if desired.
Don't think it's not on the menu. It definitely is.

Bitcoins and crypto are useless without electricity and computer networks.

It would seem to be extremely difficult to accomplish a successful such attack, even by a determined state actor.
That's why it's more likely to come from the sun.

nope. north korea is the only nation possibly interested. we're china's top customer. think it thru.
I’m sure a country like Iran would love to be part of the scheme

I'll go farther and say that I'm skeptical about gold and silver too.
Lead and powder might be your best bet.

Don't forget about the Inverse Square Law. EMP would work great in places like NYC and LA. Not so much in rural areas of the country.

Isn't this addressed in the new infrastructure package, under the aegis of "hardening the grid"?

The real threat is from the sun. It’s just a matter of time. The carrington event, if it happened today, would knock out electronics for upwards of 10 years they say. We just barely missed 3 major solar flares in 2012. The first report about it was a few years after the event. It was supposed to hit us, but some anomaly caused it to barely miss. They didn’t bother to tell anyone at the time while they privately prepared

I always buy the extended warranty, so I’m good.
