Is Alberta to the US as a state a real possibility?

Albertans would have to push independence.

Man, I hope so. Skiing Banff without having to go to Canada would be amazing. Plus, I’d likely by land up there for retirement.

As long as it's only Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, maybe Yukon and the Northwest Territory, then okay. The rest has to stay in Canada.

these are the only 3 that are in the conversation I would think. I would give them Minnesota

The only reason I say Yukon and the Northwest Territory is that it would be advantageous to connect Alaska as part of the continental US.

It would mean 2 more Democrats perpetually in the Senate, and however many more electoral votes for Democrats.

Yes. Canada is a fragile confederation held together by bribes and intimidation, united by a shared culture of loyalty to a fault. Those bribes are paid at the expense of Alberta, and Alberta is wondering why they are always expected to pay the price so that Quebec and the Maritimes stay loyal to Ottowa. Why wouldn’t Alberta’s money be better spent on Alberta?

Without Alberta’s resources, Canada’s economy and government services collapse overnight. Without Alberta’s money to pay Ottowa’s bribes to Quebec, the Quebecois immediately lose any semblance of faux loyalty to Ottowa or the English crown. Without control of Quebec or Alberta, Ottowa has no means of maintaining control over BC or the Maritimes.

Canada collapses without Alberta. Alberta flourishes without Canada, and both sides know that.

Good god please no. Even the so called conservative areas of Canada are closer to our democrats. They’ve been conditioned and accustomed to lots and lots of free shite like healthcare. They will vote Democrat by and large.

I'd rather see them as an independent country but I just hope they get out regardless.
