The logical side of me says that if it's a "routine patrol", then there would be logs of this sort of patrol in other times of the year. And over various parts of other high traffic areas. The article is admittedly written with bias, so that kind of information may have been intentionally or inadvertently omitted.

Aerial topography mapping also doesn't seem likely. They're going to shoot mapping or really any other routine data acquisition in the middle of an audit going on? And the air traffic controller or any other power over air traffic would allow that? Seems bizarre. Not impossible, but not logical at all.

It looks like someone made the pentagram odd plane movements (as in a photoshop fake photo) and posted it as news themselves to sensationalize the story? The above explanation sounds like made up disinfo BS

Does anyone think it is wise to fly a pattern like that over a populated area with no place to make an emergency landing as a flying lesson? A flight path like that would take hours, and its clear intention is to stay within a certain distance from whatever is in the center of the path.

More likely to be some liberal loon wanting to crash it into the building but couldn’t when the time came.

Well, I suppose we are left once again to discern these things for ourselves. As indicated above, I imagine there are several perfectly feasible explanations of why a plane would engage in such a flight pattern.

Perhaps the news report is ‘fake news’ or the flight plan is real but a gaslighting operation to encourage such news reports? I’m not ruling anything out; yet if the report of the flight pattern is indeed accurate, it certainly seems suspicious.
