Your government in action folks.

AOLArticle

quote:

IRS employees stated that the only reason they could not use many of these devices is because they are out of ink or because the waste cartridge container is full," the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration wrote about the copiers and printers in a report released on Friday.

quote:

The agency's telephone representatives answered only 4.4 million calls out of 46.3 million total attempts made by taxpayers to contact the IRS. As of March 5, the IRS addressed only 27% of received calls, down from 59% in 2020 when the IRS was struggling amid the pandemic.

Yikes

Just another reason to not give the Fed a free loan on your tax withholdings.

Amazingly I already received mine. I file immediately after receiving all tax docs, do my own. Still waiting on State refund though. Pretty lame excuse though. One would think the IRS would have no trouble getting more ink, even though some numbskull didn't order enough to begin with.

I sent a return in. They didn’t have it.

I sent it in again, tracked. They received it in October.

They then mailed me threatening letters telling me to send my return in.

After calling them about 6 times, I finally got someone live on the phone. They gave me a number to call when I was close to a fax machine so I could be on the phone with an IRS employee and fax the return to their personal fax number.

Haven’t bothered to yet.

It’s amazing how they will pick in the normal folks, sending threatening letters and stuff. But, for the Uber rich or for those that don’t pay taxes, crickets.

They get away with all sorts of insider trading, bribes, and money laundering in DC. But, if I were to fail to file my taxes, I would be taken to jail.

Here's a secret dude, the "Rich" (TM) get letters all the time. I see them weekly.

No you won't; they just want you to pay the taxes you owe. Unless you are committing tax fraud you will never see a jail cell bc of the IRS. Enough victim signaling already. Geez.

Government is incompetent.

They spent like 20 million to upgrade the IRS databases and then just ended up scrapping that idea part way through.

Yeah if you file and just dont have the money you arent going to jail. Late filing fines are higher than late payment fines. Tax evasion and Tax fraud is what lands you in jail.

If it is May 11, it’s at the point where they should have printed out this shite about five months ago. shite’s due on Monday.
