I personally sank dozens of Russian Kilo class subs playing Red Storm Rising on one of my early PCs. (Had to have Intel Pentium chips or faster to play the game. )

Iran even provided pics of several soldiers crying, which of course is in violation of Geneva Convention rules, but what the hell.

I don't remember the context of Obama laughing. No doubt Rice and Jarrett would claim it was because they all knew it was for show, not serious, but it seemed pretty serious to the sailors at the time, I'm betting. Obama's such a commie fig.
