I don’t think anything will happen to him. I think Trump wants a peace/nuke deal with Iran on his list of accomplishments.
The only problem for Trump is I think he wants to ink a peace/nuke deal more than Iran does. Trump is gonna have to find a way to spat them on the hand and let them know who is really in charge and get them in line.

Given the importance of his role in their Islamic government this could constitute an act of war that warrants an appropriate response.

If he truly seeks regime change then he called off the dogs way to early. He should have taken out more of the leadership in Iran. He should be taking out all the military guys that would be responsible for reprisals against the civilian population.

This will be the 2nd or 3rd time Iran has threatened to kill Trump. All out wars have started over less than that.
