Well that’s the smart move at the beginning when Iran had plenty of missiles they could overwhelm the defense systems by sheer numbers. They no longer have that ability

Our destroyers are likely very heavy on interceptors after resupplying for this reason. It's possible they may also be carrying CUAS munitions.

The strait is so narrow it’s almost impossible to defend. It doesn’t take much to create damage with a single speed boat, mine or drone.
This is one of the reasons the strait is so hard to secure.
