If you look on the positive side of things.

Trump is waging war and keeping gas prices lower than democrats. And this includes the seasonal increase you get this time of year.

Kind of amazing really.

Wait are you saying that gas prices shouldn't matter ever? Or that they should only matter if a Democrat is president?

I recall the time when gas prices wasn’t because a president and inflation was transitory.

Ahh, good times.

The cause and effect of rising prices is usually pretty clear...

This is not a political statement. It’s been in the works for years. It’s all going to come to a head this year.

We are about to have the biggest financial crash this country has seen in over 40 years. Far worse than the 2008 Financial crises.

When Biden was president, the preponderance of the articles written was to run cover for the fact that there was inflation - including at the pump.

Now that it's Trump, we can barely even acknowledge egg prices have gone down since the MSM first faux panicked 2 weeks after the election.

You always ask the dumbest fricking questions.

They certainly shouldn’t ALWAYS matter.

For example, I’d be worried about gas prices and future gas prices if we started changing gas policy. Say we start requiring a special type of gas, as policy. Like California. And then the gov wanted to raise the gas tax. And maybe some other policy driven stuff that increases the cost of gas.

That’s going to be weighed heavily when I go to vote. I probably won’t be as inclined to vote for an admin who I think is needlessly raising the price of gas.

There are other reasons that cause gas to go up. Not all of them cause me to start wanting to oust the administration.

This. Hell all gasoline in storage tanks was likely purchased prior to the war but they’ll raise prices anyways
It's astounding to me how much ignorance is displayed at this late date on such an easy topic - especially from a business owner.

Let me ask you - if your current crop of catfish were fully "paid for" by you - feed, tanks, whatever - and then something happened and ZERO catfish were available in the entire world other than yours, are you actually saying you would hold prices constant for yours?

Of course you wouldn't. Scarcity would necessarily mean prices were higher. For many reasons - one of which is you would know your ability to grow the next batch would be much more expensive/impossible.

The cause of rising gas prices is generally very obvious.

Of course. They will use this an excuse to rip the American public off. Kind of like grocery prices.

It's already up 40 cents a gallon for 87 in Houston. I don't really care, and neither should the baws that blow $100 a week on Fanduel, $8 a day getting a Monster and a honeybun at RaceTrac.

The other day when that guy called you a stupid bitch it made me laugh out loud

I pictured you reading it and getting a good chuckle out of it.

Sure, I guess.

All im saying is if y’all kept the same energy about gas prices it would be mayhem out here. Y’all wouldn’t even resonate with democrat politicians half the time because of prices rising when they held office. But y’all don’t do that. We all post here. We all discuss things. How is someone not embarrassed to be quiet about has prices over the years and then freak out in moments like this?

Also you didn’t address my actual point. What is there to even freak out about with gas, big picture. It doesn’t feel like y’all are debating in good faith.

Oh this should be fun, explain it clearly and make sure you actually use evidence.

Gas prices will increase another $1.00/gal or so in the short term. When Hormuz reopens, they will come right back down. I do hope you can withstand 6 more weeks of gas price trauma though.

Gas jumped almost 60 cents here in NC. It was 2.99 today and had been as low at 2.29 to 2.39 for months

Don't "y'all" me. I don't complain about gas prices.
