Why not detonate a nuke from above Tehran to act as emp? Long term just as bad as a Nuke on the ground but……..

Non-Nuclear EMP (NNEMP): Unlike its nuclear counterpart, a non-nuclear EMP does not rely on a nuclear explosion. Instead, it can be produced through various means such as high-power microwave devices or other advanced technologies. While NNEMP weapons typically have a more limited range compared to NEMPs, they can still cause significant localized damage to electronic systems.

This would kill all infrastructure like water plants and electrical. This would cause mass civilian panic and death and we would never use it in normal combat or skirmishes.

But why? What would be the benefits? The bulk of the Iranian people hate the regime they are under. They do not have the fire power/guns/weapons to overthrow this regime. So tactically nuking them would take out more good than evil. This is the problem with Iran, you cannot separate the bad from the good. It is on purpose.

But what? Are you aware we're not in total war?

Do you think sending a metro population of almost 20 million - many of whom hate the IR as much as we do - back to the stone age and mass starvation is in our interest?

That would be the single largest terrorist-creating event in history. If you're that fricked up you might as well drop the nuke out of mercy

I realize you're too unhinged to put this together but the people whose shite you are tired of are not the same people we would be nuking/EMPing

You're the kind of lunatic that would be at home in the Islamic Republic. It's a shame fate was kinder to you than you deserve

They tried to. About 60k of them were mowed down. The others were hung in their town squares. Those that have weapons are much lessor in population and want the current regime compared to those who do not. That is why the 2nd amendment is so important for us.

True, they should have just voted the autocracy that has controlled every aspect of their lives for almost half a century out

This isn't schtick, is it? This is actually you?

They really expect daily updates, daily escalation and this to end tomorrow while we haven’t even put boots on the ground. The whining is out of control.

At this point I wouldn’t stop bombing them/launching missiles into Iran until the president gets the deal he’s wanting. Why stop at this point?

Nuke/EMP discussion aside, are we THAT sure of what the bulk of the Iranian people want?

A lot of time has passed since 1979... people tend to prefer what they know and current day Iran has been around longer than I've drawn breath.

Because we are trying NOT to murder innocent civilians? That would be my guess- and my hope. Have you thought this through? Please explain to me how this would be morally justified. Do you care?
