My dad who was a Master’s Degreed Forester from Duke University “predicted” in the ‘60’s that Federal Forest lands would become a fire diaster due to the uneducated opinions of “environmentalists” who were gaining support in the west. I can remember his lamenting the fact from my childhood.

It’s so disheartening to see folks like Governor Brown blame this clearly preventable situation on climate change when nothing could be further from the truth. It would be akin to lining the gulf coast ocean front with mobile homes and then blaming climate change on the enevidable destruction a hurricane would cause.

As a nation we have to let professional, educated, experienced individuals dictate scientific policy and get away from these feel good, emotional responses fostered by liberal politicians.
